Jim Les gets paid an awful lot of $$ to do his job, along with lots of other BU paid/supported perks, and local sponsorship deals. Some of that no doubt due to the endless hours of hard work and traveling on the road this type of work requires.
He gets lots of props when the team wins and the program does well from fans, the media, the administration, students. It's not like he toils without recognition or praise. Props were in order, and given profusely during the magical BU run in 2006...Perhaps not as much the last several years.
Would this be too negative?

B4L - I believe you are correct. I am smarmy! The last line was supposed to be tongue in cheek. Something about giving props when due....
Please don't confuse my desire to see BU have more success with any personal feelings for JL. I like JL, think he is a personable guy, took BU up several levels from where they were when he took the job, has a great sense of humor, who works hard, loves BU, good family guy etc.
I would have to think JL himself would say he hasn't achieved the success at BU he envisioned and proclaimed when he took the job and that fans should expect more success from the program. I would also propose that JL would/should understand fans looking for someone else to try and take the program to an even higher level if after 9-10 years on the job he couldn't deliver a MVC title or MVC tournament title. This would be the ultimate concession to his love for BU: To acknowledge that he has taken the program up several steps and as far as he can, and that BU should look for someone who could take it to the next level. Everybody does love a winner!
I've been a "supporter" for years no matter who the coach was. I wasn't a great fan of JS as coach. I was happy when Dick V came on as coach and was disappointed when he was let go. I thought Albeck was a good choice, but changed my mind. I thought Jim Molinari did a good enough job but was very happy when Jim Les came back as coach. Guess what I'm saying is I'm a supporter of the program no matter who the coach is and I think most BU fans are. The real non-supporters are the ones who said they were going to give up their seats when Jim was hired.

No, no (B n C), you're right.
Coach Les pays more attention to what KW and the local rag has to say about him (cause the Drive-By Media always has their finger on the pulse and always asks the tough questions providing readers with the best info to form their perceptions).

that should settle it -- I think a few people owe Coach Les an apology...
and people have a right to their opinions on this subject without being falsely called out for not being "consistent".
I kinda see "being consistent" as someone who is not guided by the facts of the situation, but instead always making the same decision because of predetermined, rigid bias...
In other words, the very people calling for "consistency" and claiming they ARE consistent while others are not, are the ones ruled by their rigid biases and predetermined grudges.
Sure they might be "consistent" but it is clear they are consistently negative and anti-Bradley in every call they make!

Exactly. I do not really care who is, I care about the program. If the program is doing great then that coach is doing great, but from Stowell to Stan to JL, one thing for me has been consistant, I follow and cheer for BRADLEY BASKETBALL. The coach just like the names on the back of the jersey can and do change but the front stays the same.

Wow. Really? Being "OK" with change is "anti-JL"? That is patently absurd. I do agree with your point about talking about it now given the fact the season is about to start. OK to me also means they can be OK with staying the course. OK is also a fairly passive reaction. . .a far cry from anyone "advocating" anything.
However there is an enormous chasm with being indifferent and anti-something.
When Molinari was fired, there were many fans who were OK with change but also were OK if he was allowed to continue.

No 2ay does one persons beliefs/thoughts "undermine" the program. That's ridiculous.
Couldn't it be spun the other way. Can't someone be SO PRO-BU that they want to win so badly and see BU succeed that they feel a change is the only way to get that done?

Just talked to Coach Stowell, he was having coffee with someone from Bradley (don't want to say who). Told him how much I enjoyed him over the years, that he will be missed and good luck

No, he said "OK with and somewhat advocate" (the exact quote you referenced) which indicates only mildly favoring an opinion. Still a fairly passive statement which was twisted into "advocate" indicating actively pursuing.
So yes, you are correct, it is a HUGE difference.
