Isn't he kind of in the same situation as Sammy? Perhaps he may not have as many options as Sammy, but surely he would have some wouldn't he? Remember - Will did have arguably his best game as a Brave against Bruce Weber and Illinois in Vegas (11 pts, 11 rebs). We've seen in the past all it takes is one good game against Illinois for Bruce to come poaching (see Marcus Arnold's game as an ISU Redbird against Illinois a few years back). Perhaps Sammy and Will are a package deal? They did come in together. What a major recruiting coup for Illinois this would be!

From what I hear, WE will make his own decisions. Illinois only has 1 scholarship and needs a point guard, not another forward who has only 1 year of eligibility. But then I am sure you already knew that. ;-)

Is Illinois actively recruiting Sam? Did they contact him? Did he contact them? Is this process even within the rules??

(In Costanza voice) That's what they tell me! :D

I thought will had 12 points and 9 rebounds vs. Illinois....just saying.

And there is no way WE would log a minute at U of I lol. no offense.

Probably right on the numbers. I thought it was a double-double, but no need to split hairs.

And while the part about going to U of I was said tongue-in-cheek, it was more a question about people not seeming to care about Will leaving when he's more or less in the same position as Sam. From what DC says, it sounds like he's weighing his options like everyone. Completely understandable.

No coach can contact a player at another school until he has a release, so I am sure Bruce has not contacted Sammy. However, there are roundabout ways a player can find out if another school might be interested in them if they did transfer.

Its because I don't think they do. Sam was likely to be a 1st team all MVC performer if healthy, based on past performance. Will is looking like a 4 year version of David Collins, the light has just not gone off despite the potential that we've seen flashes of.

I care if WE leaves. Would I be as devastated as if Sammy leaves? No. But I don't want any of the current players or recruits to leave. I know if won't happen, but I'd love to see this team all return next year. WE has frustrated me more than any Brave recently, but just maybe the light will go on next year.....at the very least he is a decent post. So I don't want him to leave either.

I think if you looked at his production per 40 WE is in the top 3 of points/rebounds/blocks, the problem is his foul trouble. If he can solve that he's not just a decent post, he is a SOLID MVC post.

His ability is solid, it is his basketball smarts I question sometimes. He does not pass the ball back out of the post EVER, he commits dumb turnovers and fouls alot. If he could just play more intelligent, which in itself would take care of the fouls, he would be a very solid post. It's not ability, I think it's 95% between the ears.

I hope Egolf stays! Maybe a new coach and staff can correct these problems that persisted throughout the Les regime.

I agree, I want him to stay too as I stated. I want them all to stay. Maybe he will finally have a great year next year. He is at the very least a decent post as I stated, I will not turn a senior one of those down.

Ding, ding, ding ---- take away the high post screen & you can likely cut WE's foul outs in 1/2. Next teach him not to reach in at center court while chasing a guard and he's down to a manageable 3-4 fouls outs a season.

While I think Les could have much improved some aspects of his use of bigs on offense, I don't see many teams that run a motion offense that don't involve the high post player setting screens. Will's problem is that he moves on the screens, not that he's being asked to set them.

I know, but he could have let WE post & JP set all high screens, he seemed better at slip/screens for open lay-ups anyway. Was just teasing about Will's foul problems a bit.

Totally agree prosser is the much better screener and awesome when he slips and rolls. One thing I how the new coach likes is screens set by wings as well as bigs.
