Same here. I'd say a 1-point loss tonight will be better than another 30-point loss. There are people that see them as the same though.
I don't see them same but they count the same

so if we have more wins but some of the losses are by 30 plus points doesn't make any difference....
But it comes down to wins....would you rather 20-10 with 7 losses over 30 or 15-15 and all your losses by less than 10 points....
I've never seen a coach's career record at 200-100....this includes 20 30 pt losses
Now if you two identical records I agree on what you say...but the only thing that actually counts is the record not the margin
Maybe if you mean that they COUNT the same, you should clarify that when noting, "doesn't make a difference".
It DOES make a difference - just not in the standings.
I guess that's why I don't understand that statement, and not just from you. Obviously, they count the same. I think everyone realizes they are all losses, no matter what the margin is.
I wish I could say these posts about 30 pt. loses were funny but this might be the biggest waste of reading time I've ever spent. There is a reason for these 30 pt.loses and that goes back to the people brought in by the last regime. Plan and simple. Who cares if you lose by 1 or 30 it's still a loss When Geno gets his own players in here and we still are not competing then we need to worry.

What school were you at? There isn't many in this area I haven't worked.I wish I had agreed with officials as much when I was coaching as I agree with you now. I wonder if you ever did any of our games.
Not in my eyes. It still counts as one win. When you look in the paper at the conference standings,it just shows their win loss record not by what they won or lost by.Such a silly argument.so if 30-pt losses are off limits - then are 30-pt wins? :-o:roll:

A different (blowout >19) and incomplete look at blowout win and loss games from StatSheet:

Note, our NIT season had 3 blowout losses.
This season has 3 blowout wins.

But remember we are not improved this year from last...
I'm not exactly ignoring JC,SS and KB. You are 100 % correct in that Geno did bring those 3 in. I guess I'm letting him off the hook a little with JC and SS because he did not have alot of time from his hiring to signing day. If you think that reasoning is weak I understand and have no other arguement. KB was Willie's recruit so I'm counting this recruiting class as all Geno's baby. From here on out I hold him totally responsible for those that don't work out.Sorry for wasting your time.
I'm not quite sure you can point the reasoning completely to recruits brought in by "the last regime" and completely ignore JC, SS, and KB.
I guess we'll find out next season, when the roster will be almost completely Geno's "own players".
