Tommy Amacker

Prediction...Harvard's coach, Tommy Amacker will be the next Bradley coach. Dr. Cross will select a coach from his old conference....too much of a temptation (not that this would be a bad selection). Remember this thread.....

afan, I think you are about 7 days late :)

Amaker is behind SidJohn I believe.

BU needs someone personable

If you are right this would not be a bad hire. His name alone would get him in some homes that some other Coaches may not at Bradley. He has done a good job every place he he as been as a Coach and player. I would think his name may also help keep some current players and maybe some recruits? Thoughts?

I like the idea of amaker a lot, and would be happy if he was the one. That said apparently he doesn't play nice with the media, so that could turn into a problem... Otherwise I like amaker.

yup -- looks like Tommy Amaker and his staff have brought Harvard out of the Dark Ages and into the 21st century...where virtually every team -- and every coach who came through any BCS team has the Kelvin Sampson mindset that since everyone else is doing it -- you'd better do it, too -- just learn your techniques from the best and you can avoid getting caught.

Amaker was at Michigan for six years and underproduced despite good recruiting classes, and was also in the Big East (Seton Hall) for 4 years...clearly long enough to learn the tricks...
One of the top kids he landed at Seton Hall, Eddie Griffin, was constantly embroiled in drug issues and felony assault charges...and ended up getting kicked off the Seton Hall team for fighting with teammates....and the entire team was generally embroiled in turmoil..

Amacker does not fit the Bradley mindset of academics first. He would not be able to get "his kind" of recruits admitted by BU. I doubt he has a chance at BU.

I would give serious consideration to Amaker, however, I think that Amaker will end up at Providence if he decides to leave Harvard.

I agree with you.
