Good grief. The T on Carmichael for hanging on the rim cost ISU a 4-point swing, too.
How you you figure that? There was already a change of possession, so at most it cost 2 points.

The refs had already given Les a bench warning. Les was out of the box yelling at Egolf and i'm sure he gave a dirty look at the refs also. Quite frankly, Les shouldn't have been that fired up, Bradley was within 1 possession of taking fouls the rest of the game. Les should have realized that BU was up by 8 points with 1:40 left and needed to keep his cool.
On that note, I don't plan on attending any more BU games until Les is fired. I can't stand his coaching style and multiple coaching mistakes every single game. Losing 2 starters shouldn't make you have almost the worst season on record. I'm sure their is a coach out there that can bring talent out of this group. Obviously they wouldn't arrive in enough time this season but plenty of time before next season. I've been to every BU home game the last 5 years and saddened that it has come to this point but that's just the way it is.

I'm right with you...
I've never been so angry or said so many four letter words in my life at the close of a game...
Throwing money at an obviously failing product is a waste in my mind at this point and until something substantial takes shape, I will probably watch from afar and have my long time season tickets lapse...
I've just had it and no excuse he gives anymore am I going to agree with because it's not just one thing, it's a collective group of things over the years and this may have perhaps been the final straw...
Who yells at a guy trying to make a play anyways when you're up 8 with barely a minute to play?!
Oh well...there's always baseball
While I can agree with you on some coaching decisions and which player should or should not be on the floor at any given time, I have to disagree with you assessments regarding JL's technical foul. "Who yells at a guy trying to make a play anyways when you're up 8 with barely a minute to play"?
My answer would be 100% of the coaches in Division 1 or any level of coaching for that matter, who sees a player that needs to get to the other end of the floor to be in a position to make a play and a player who is letting a bad play get into his head with a momentary lapse in judgement.
2 free throws and the ball back..they made a basket on the next possession..causing a four point swing...momentum swing was huge at that point...
.. 3 of the bottom of the Vally officials.
they already had the ball when the T was called...so it was just two ft's I think
correction ..bottom of not only all D-I but all NCAA basketball regardless of division...
I could have swore they made a basket after the T....making it a 4 point swing...would they have made a basket anyway? Don't know...but it changed momentum for sure...
Yeah, but they already had the ball.
So your using the argument that ISU wouldn't have scored except the tech gave them the momentum to score???
ISU had the ball already so all they gained was the 2 ft's.
I am not sure what your argueing about...ISU had the ball...JL got T'd and ISU made both FT's...then they have the ball awarded to them by rule...and make a basket...that is a 4 point swing...up 8 to up 4...in a period of a few seconds...that is all i said...
the can't be a 4pt swing coach..there is no possession change on a technical...ISU could have scored anyway on their possesion without the T and it's a 6 pt game...

"Anthony Cousin sank the resulting free throws to pull Illinois State within 61-55. Cousin added a layup seven seconds later to complete a four-point possession and get the Redbirds within four, 61-57."
this was in the BU report
After Dunson missed two FT's (OUCH)...Then Wilkings hit a three to make it 61-60...quite the momentum shift...
Yeah and it wouldve been a 6 pt game with maybe a minute to play...
Instead it was 4 and all it took was 2 missed FT's to make it a one possession game instead of the 4 it could have taken otherwise...
What point are you trying to make exactly?
Either way it was a 4 point swing with only about 9 seconds taken off the clock after the two FT's and the uncontested layup
Just because ISU had the ball you can not assume they would have scored.
So when Les was given the T, it stopped the possession. They shot 2 fts and made the free throws, then retained possession and scored a two point basket.
Hence the game moved in ISU's favor by 4 points.
Even if Les did not get the T and ISU scored with the ball it would be a 2 point swing.
To me moving the score in a direction is a point swing. Regardless of possession of the ball.
The Carmichael T may have been worse than any of the other calls.
This officiating crew lost control of the game. IMO. No way around it.
