but the whole point of the original long list was over the idea that we needed to go get a juco big man to help us with rebounding
..so I think it's only fair that now, a year later, we can see if any of those players would have helped - or did we do pretty well on rebounding without taking that chance.
We debate all the time over gobs of topics, but here's a chance to actually go back and see how sound this idea was that we needed to maybe land one of those guys.
You have to admit that as pretty on paper as their numbers all looked in juco - really not one turned out to be a huge recruiting miss....
the only ones with even marginally good stats at DI, would have taken their Memphis/Ole Miss/UNLV offers over BU anyway.
The one guy who maybe would have come to Bradley was Johnson, who chose Milwaukee instead- and his contribution there was minimal.
So in the end, I really don't see any of them as someone who would have come to BU and been a big difference-maker...thus the original precept - that we must go get some big juco guy just because there's plenty of them out there- would have been a bad move.
