Proud of the team...

WSU chucks too many 3's to contend for title, though they do have some depth. either 2 or 3 behind UNI and maybe ISU red. BU will hope for 5th or 6th at BEST

I'm with you! WSU to me is not a great team. What makes them good is that they play hard for the whole 40 minutes. They do not let up for even 1 minute. They shot the 3 well today but they are not a 3 point shooting team at all. Their bigs do what most bigs do, they rebound hard and defend their basket. WSU is a blue collar team and they bring their lunch pail to every game. That is something we can learn. It take discipline though. Too many times this team stops playing like one and seems to believe they can relax on D. The matador approach on D does not work well in b-ball.

The Shockers are about 5th in the Valley on 3pt attempts and not too far from #6 and #7. I don't think that is "chucking up too many".

They are also middle of the pack with the 3pt% in the Valley.

Now I'm not disagreeing about them finishing MAYBE #2 or #3 in the Valley. But I don't think it would be because of 3pt shooting solely. You say we may finish behind ISU red, but they have shot more 3pt shots than the Shox have and they are worse at shooting it. So going by your first sentence I don't think they would qualify to finish ahead of the Shox.

I'm not saying your wrong but we need to find out whats going on before we judge. Hope your wrong but it wouldn't surprise me your right on the money . Hope not This is NOT the way I thought this season would go.

Your right friend, we should wait for the facts. I guess I just know when things like this happen to a player and team is not a good thing:!: This is his second time:!: We will see:?

I was happy with the teams effort today:)

There's not much to be proud of, sorry. We're 6-7, have lost 3 straight home games, and have players who apparently don't care enough to follow the rules. I'd be proud if we had won. Showing up and playing hard shouldn't have to be rewarded with praise, it should be expected.

2nd place is first loser. Great they played hard, but in my world losing is losing. Proud they didnt quit, fine, but praise for playing the game, they are going to school for free, hard, no that should be every night.

Mr Brown, if he is a poison on this team, he either needs to have one of his parents wake his a** up or he needs to move on. Regardless of how great he believes he is, there is always someone better, who is working harder, not missing games and is a leader. Right now he is nothing but a spoiled child who from what it appears could not care less about his teammates. Either grow up or go away, this program will survive with or without you.

I agree with your first statement as the individual who came up with the phrase "moral victory" was either the team manager or a guy who sat in the stands, because you can have 20 moral victories in a season, yet those 20 losses will get you sent packing...

Sorry, a win is always a win and a loss is always a loss no matter how you cut it...

No one is going to look at a team who finishes 6th or 7th in a conference and then say, gee, but they were real close on 7 or 8 games...

There's NO Room for poison on any team

our kids are good kids....maybe some immaturity and being in the wrong place at the wrong time...
but we have no drug arrests, DUI's, and the stuff we've had is minor, really minor by comparison with a lot of the stuff in the news.
I am happy our program will not allow it and even disciplines the minor stuff stronger than places like Tennessee disciplines the gangsterism.

Come on T, let's just stay in our back yard and clean up our troubles! Pointing to other places does nothing to help the issues at BU or justify them:!: Ask the police how minor they consider fighting and how serious it can escalate to:!: Better yet, why don't you represent TB and tell it to the judge, how minor he should consider it:!: T, where do you cut the kid BS and start referring to them as young adults:!: Better yet, again ask the court system that question! How old is TB:doubt: Not sure what TB has done this time but this is his second know suspension, and missing 3 games. His actions in no way meet Webster's definition of good:roll: And you know what I was referring in the word poison, How about just plain trouble maker and team disrupter, at this point:!: Good for JL and BU for taking action with this young man and enforcing the team rules:!:

I agree, and this is why it baffles me why things like this can not be handled by either saying a) you're not starting and will sit for X amount of minutes or the first half or b) you will have to run more in practice or c) everyone runs because of what you did, causing you to not want to let teammates down by messing up again...

If it is such a minor offense, a guy should not lose a game over it.

On his radio show this morning, JL talked a little more about punishment in general. He said an example, if SM was always at least 5 minutes early to practice, he would not punish SM for being late once during his senior year. (although that is a team rule, SM had not shown that he was continually leting down the team through his career.) JL then mentioned that he once had to sit out Boogie and POB one game for being late, because it was becomming a pattern and that would be overall detrimental to the team if being late continuinued.

..not sure what it all means, but I think JL was trying to say he would not sit someone just because of a strict, "letter of the rule" issue. He did mention that team leaders are involved in the discussion.

On a positive note, they somehow managed to have a caller. Of course the caller asked about recruiting big men.
