No Postseason Banquet

Wow! They better fix things up regarding the assistants and recruiting. If they do, then no one will care about missing the banquet this year.

I believe that the Administration is setting a tone to the program, that this is a business and the team needs to earn its adulation. JL and his staff also have a lot of work in front of them between recruiting and getting the guys they have in the right frame of mind heading into the summer. The team does not need another distraction regardless of what it is.

If the administration did have a hand in this, along with the decision not to play in the postseason, then this just gets me even more anxious for next season to get here! I think a lot of great things will happen this offseason that will set the tone for what hopefully will be a great season next year. I'm also hoping that the performances by the mid-majors in the NCAA Tournament will help motivate our team as well.

If you have some verifiable news, we will welcome that. But you know we don't allow unverified rumors.

You are correct, and I always try to respect that. You are closer to this than I am. I guess I thought it was more substantial at this point. I will stop speculating.

It's unfortunate there's no banquet this year. It wasn't the best year ever, but we (The BU faithful) have had banquets for much, much worse. Several players deserve some recognition; it's disappoiting that they won't get any in a public forum.

While I agree that some of the players did have a good year and deserve some recognition, I am hoping that JL and Co. are sending a message that this is about the TEAM and not individuals.

No Postseason Banquet

SFP---I agree w/ you---We have had too much player adulation before and after the season in past years and instead need to focus on the TEAM and what is necessary to grow and improve what has become a mediocre program.

While I enjoy post season banquets as much as anyone, there really isn't much to honor this year. The internal team banquet that is planned seems very appropriate. The administration is very correct in what they have announced.

Regarding the preseason banquet---While I do believe that this is an excellent way to start the season, I feel we have gone way too far with the preseason adulation, spotlight introductions, and fawning over players before they have done their job for the year. Lets emphasize TEAM and TEAM goals for the coming season and not individual players.

When we have a good year, then lets have a major whiz- bang banquet that honors what the TEAM has accomplished.

I agree, this is a pretty disappointing way to say thank you to the BU players.

The women's team is having a banquet. April 10 at the Lariet. Don't know just curious as to why them and not the men. I know they had their first post-season win ever but they were just a couple games over 500. ???

I think this shows that Cross is having an immediate impact on the basketball program. I think it will be great for Coach Les to get some very direct guidance outside of his inner circle. It seems that this is happening with the news coming out of BU since the loss to UNI. Many surprising developments that people would not have predicted.

The PJStar says that they will have a spring party attended by the team, coaches, parents of he seniors and the top administrators.

Here is the story about the Women's banquet-

Why don't the friends of BradleyFans.com host their own Postseason Banquet for the BU MBB team - perhaps at "The Fieldhouse" and invite the team/coaches??

that is a great idea...kinda like the old "Smoker" but without the smoke...
let's get someone to arrange, I'll kick in a bit...
