NCAA bracket and results

30-3 in one of the best mid-major conferences and they get an 11 seed. I guess we know the high end of seeding we can ever expect to get in the future. I can’t imagine having a much better record than that, ever.

14 SEC team! The NCAA is a joke.

Ohio State was left out with an NET rank of 41, and Boise State left out with a NET of 44. That suggests that very likely, Drake would not have gotten an at-large bid if they hadn't won the MVC Tournament.
Texas gets an at-large bid with a 19-15 overall record and 6-12 and tied for 13th place in the SEC. What an absolute joke.
Oklahoma also gets a bid and a # 9 seed with a 6-12 record in the SEC.

Drake gets an # 11 seed in the West region, and they will play Missouri. That's a pretty good draw for them, IMO.
Bracket- https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/ncaa-tournament/bracket/

The SEC got 14 teams in the tournament.
Big Ten - 8 teams
Big 12 - 7
Big East - 5
ACC - 4
Mountain West - 4
West Coast - 2

I agree DC, my thought when I saw it. The selection committee is gross. 14 SEC, plus a bad UNC team. People want to see their teams and Cinderellas. Reward MMs, not .500 or worse P4.

Tough to say we are a top MM league when we only ever get 1 team in

If u can’t finish better than 14th in the conference, no way u should be rewarded with an at large. Also 1-12 vs quad 1’s… lol anybody could do that.. I could play by myself and lose 12 of them.. in fact, I would lose all 13… so the entire UNC did slightly better in quad 1 games than I would do by myself.

Just invite the whole SEC conference. They need to come up with a better selection process than what they do now

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get to an invite all P4, and MMs have to play in

I'd rather have an honest system than the BS that is getting pulled these days, even if that means the end of something we love. The system is already broken with NIL, it will slowly morph into something else but they won't do it right away to prevent an uproar from everyone not in the Power school system. The sport is entirely something else than what it even was 20 yrs ago.

Oh for sure I would prefer to have an honest system. However, I agree with money being the most important factor it will continue to devolve into a professional situation.

I know it's pure coincidence, but....
The head of the NCAA Selection Committe just happens to be North Carolina's ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

BTW- Drake gets relegated to the obscure cable channel TruTV for their NCAA Tourney game- LINK

Yeah, you’re right. We only get one bid regularly in the incredibly fair and just selection process of the NCAA tournament. What was I thinking!

Well the mountain West, got multiple again. I'm not saying it's fair, just tough to call it great when we are a 1 bid, double digit seed conf for years now.

I also love how they all pick Drake to do major damage and beat these power teams.. but yet they still need to over earn their way in.. let’s remember no team outside the valley could beat them this year.

if u think they are so good now, why don’t they get that respect before the autobid.

way too much weight in losing to good teams is given.. like I said anybody can lose a bunch of games to ranked teams.. like Vanderbilt (who Drake beat easily)

A player will eventually sue the NCAA and the selection process on the grounds that it prevents them from maximizing their NIL potential by showcasing their game in the tourney.

The selection process is not transparent, there are no “hard benchmark requirements” for selection, it reeks of conflict of interest, and an algorithm used for selection is designed to favor certain teams and conferences who all participate under the same organization (NCAA Basketball)

All the problems the NCAA has now has been brought on by themselves. Their favoritism, their conflicts of interests, their greed, lack of equal enforcement of their rules.
