Montage/Intro question...

Was the opening montage on the scoreboard ditched because we're so bad? This is the 2nd or 3rd game in a row that we've gone straight into intros.

Also, where was the pizazz and enthusiasm from Paul Herzog 'And the Braves are coached by Jiiiiiiiim LLLLLLLLLLLLLes!'? In a non-Herzog way he merely stated who the Braves were coached by, almost as if he was introducing the visiting team.

Just a couple of observations from last night...could be nothing...could be telling...

That's why I've always been against the big montage before the introductions. Unless your team is among the top in the country, it's a waste of time. Just turn the lights out and let each player run to center court as they are introduced. Worked before and the crowd got into it just as good. Just my opinion.

Could it be the montage was ditched because IT was so bad!! Never liked it...

It's gotta be hard for PA Paul to get excited about how this season has played out.

yeah....I wasn't wild about the montage we had either...it was a little long IMO....I like one actually that would be well done, hard hitting, and about 30-40 seconds long that Paul could come out of with some excitement and into the lineups.

Never mind Zombie Nation is so 2007.

Uh...you mean 2002. I honestly believe Zombie Nation peaked when most NBA teams started using it in 2002, then ditched it within 2 years to move on to whatever the next great thing was.

Personally, I've become a huge fan of "Power" by Kanye West...it sounds awesome with stadium bass.

Herzog almost introduced JL as if he was an afterthought. We'll know JL is on his way out if they stop introducing him altogether like he did in MO's last year.

Early on in the Vally season, a few sections over after they announced Jimmy, some BU fans, about 10 actually started booing...

I was actually going to post that they're playing it five minutes before the national anthem for some reason... That was before it clicked that there was some weird android/scifi/computery thing that they played before a couple of the games. I had struck it from my memory because it was very very bad.

Also, agree that it's time for Zombie Nation to get gone.

Maybe someone in the band can help me out with this one, but the games that I have attended and watched/listened to you seem to play the same songs. For instance, you play "Hey" I believe in the second half (all I can remember off the top of my head).

Is there some copyright involved where you guys can't really play different songs? Don't get me wrong, I like what you guys are doing, but I sure wish that it could be changed up.

Agreed about "Zombie Nation."

I'm envious of this, though.

One of my first posts on this board was about the video intro. I expressed my opinion on it (I don't like it either) and got rebuked by several for being too critical.

And on using piped in music, it's so hard to please everyone. Just look at how many different types of radio stations there are, so many different tastes. Less is more when it comes to intros, especially when you are 0-6 in the conference.

They did somehow manage to get "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada...

Ive only been to 1 game this year and that was while I was home for Christmas. The intro video was not very good at all. I felt that I could have done a better job pulling clips from youtube and throwing them together. I realize it was made prior to TB and SM being out for the year, but the marketing department and game productions department needs to come up with something better.

I'm not in the band, but I am guessing that over Christmas the alumni band has a pretty limited repertoire.

The HEY song (Rock & Roll Pt. 2 by Gary Glitter), is a scheduled part of the 2nd half media timeout rotation, I believe.

It is probably a good idea if they ditched it. First, it was boring--not one dunk or tough play last time I was able to see it. Second, I agree, it is embarassing if you try to put on a big-time intro but the product is bad.
