Max B. again

Thats not my point. I think Max could play at Bradley and improve our depth. I am just wondering if a new coach would be ok in losing some of the decisions that are normally his.

While I think Max would do just fine at Bradley I also think that Illinois and Michigan are his only offers from the big schools. He never has been considered a priority or must have guy for them. This could change as the big schools have turnover every year. I am pretty sure that all of his other offers are from schools that are considered mid or low major schools. I would still like to see him here. If he could develop into a 3, we would have a stud.

The JS is doing a great job of listing potential coaching candidates. Let's see, we have ex-fired coaches and a list of unproven assistants. Like MC says - the interest is off the charts! Maybe the JS should list every coached fired in the last 10 years who is looking for work and every single assistant in college basketball- they are bound to right then. Typical JS!

+1. Willie Scott is out there scouting, recruiting, and representing BU.

If BU lands Max somehow in the next few weeks, it would be a huge get and make this an even more attractive job.

And if this is the case I would hope that The Administration rewards Willie in some way.

Can someone tell me why everyone is so excited about MB. I have seen him play twice

Wow, twice? Nice sample size for forming an opinion.

6-7 or 6-8, extremely strong with good court sense, the ability to finish around the rim and plays with high energy. 24/12/5blocks are pretty good numbers in the Mid-state 6. He is definitely a d-1 talent based on the times I've seen him.

Your correct in isn't a great sample but it was against talent at or below mid major level. Talked w/a AAU coach who made the assesment that all These college coaches can't be wrong. As for offers from IL & MI could IL be they want ro make sure he isn't taking the family $$$$ to MI w him-I do believe in time and hard work he could help BU.

I have never seen him play. Could someone compare and contrast him to JP?

JP has a little more length, imo, and is a bit more of an explosive jumper. JP also looks to have the better mid-range game, although we haven't seen that yet at BU.

MB is more of a banger than JP, more likely to establish low block position and be tough to move. I think he's physically a bit bulkier and stronger than JP was as a senior.

Both have good to above post moves, MB will need to develop a bit more of a back-to-the-basket game at the D-1 level, and can finish with authority around the rim.

I suspect you are making a joke about the comparison but I will bite.....JP is taller, stronger, and has a bigger frame. He also appears to be a little more athletic than Max when comparing foot speed, verticle jumping, and quickness. They both handle the ball about the same. They both have good footwork when posting up. Max has a better 10-15 foot shot and probably shoots free throws better.

No joke at all. Can they be on the floor at the same time?

Imo they could if Max improves his ball handling and mid range shot. Otherwise I see him as a good back up to JP. I would prefer to see a tall 5 paired with either Max or JP. Someone who can alter shots and score.

Dr. Cross didn't say SM hasn't asked for release.

Well....if he didn't say that, then the PJS has made yet another mistake in their "reporting".

On another topic, Cross said BU guard Sam Maniscalco, who is thought to be headed to Illinois for his final season, has not requested his release from Bradley.

Can someone tell me why everyone is so excited about MB. I have seen him play twice and he still hasn't showed me anough to get excited about. Doesn't jump real well and no shot outside of 6 feet and his court vision doesn't look real good either.

Ditto, see my post earlier in the thread. He's a good get but MB<JP IMO.

Does this surprise you?

Ding!

Certainly a guy that can help an MVC team.

I think Max could develop into a better outside shooter eventually than Lucas. I think this will be interesting to follow in the coming weeks.
Agree BB but I think Max is already a fairly good outside shooter. Already a better outside shooter then Will ,JP ,MK and AT. I think he would be very serviceable but maybe not the final piece of the puzzle.
