I think some of us would like to see a John Diebler role player.
What smaller school or mid-major wouldn't want a 5-Star kid, a Jon Diebler, a JJ Redick - hey as long as we're dreaming - why not ask for a Jared Sullinger or Kyrie Irving??
BUT BU has had dominant 7-footers who are lottery picks and fine SG's who average 40%+ on career shooting pct like Diebler (JC, Warren)...
In fact our recruiting over the past half decade has accomplished that more than just about anyone in the Valley...
But let's be realistic -- the only chance we even come close is to get a kid who is under the radar but pans out into something far better than expected.
So if we go that route -- then we are BY DEFINITION going to be landing a group of recruits who some WON'T pan out...
And yet if we do get a Saihou Jassey, a TCS, etc...then people criticize like crazy that it was a scholarship wasted...
I have even seen people call Andrew Warren, Sam Maniscalco, and even DSE poorly spent scholarships!
A mid-major fan base can't have it both ways -- you can't expect a stable of 5-Star caliber kids without an occasional kid who doesn't pan out - yet that's exactly what fans DO clammor for...
I think we've been very fortunate -- Bradley has had plenty of All Conference kids, kids who go on to play professionally, and even kids who play or at least get looks from the NBA..
I fully believe Geno's on the right track -- give the guy time -- here he hasn't even coached a game yet.
