I agree with Da Coach. I would think a new coach would want to build for the future and play Donivine more (assuming DS stayed) and Sammy could potentially be an after thought on a rebuilding team or the lone good player (see Andrew Warren, esp. if TB left).

Sammy would be in great demand by several Big 10 schools and would be able to finish his career on a bigger stage. All great players long to play against the best.

So a new guy wouldn't want an all-conference guard on his team? Yeah right. Are you serious when you write that?

I disagree. With Sammy and TB back as seniors we'll have 2 of the best players in the league. And with the progression of guys like DSE, WL, JP, JE, and some pretty good incoming players, I think BU can win the league next year.

I am sure any new coach would want him. But I wouldn't be surprised if SM leaves if JL isn't here.

I have heard similar things as well. I just didn't agree with your statement that a new coach wouldn't appreciate his skills. Sammy is a great basketball player, and any coach would love to have him IMO.

Wait and see.
Again- what would you do? Play for a replacement coach who you don't know, didn't recruit you, and holds your future in his hands, and on a team that will be rebuilding with no chance of making the NCAA tournament? Or go elsewhere and play for a guy you and your father know well, who wants you, needs you, and and has a good chance of making the NCAA tournament (something you have always wanted but not yet tasted).
Believe what you want, but it's a no-brainer to me.

Wow....the scare tactics begin.

No way SM leaves is JL isn't the coach next year.

I would not dismiss anything from happening if there is a change in coaching staff, anything is possible as far as players not coming or not returning , I would not bet on anything at the moment as far as who will be coaching BU next season and if Les is replaced who will be on the team as it has a lot to do with whomever the replacement would be and what he has to say to the team .

I agree, nothing we say will have any bearing. However, I suspect the decision has already been made.

Well how do we know sammy would want to stay here either way then...

we know that we arent going to the ncaa next year, either way

Maybe I worded my thoughts poorly BB. What I meant was that SM would not be someone that a new coach would bank his future on and would probably design his offense based upon building the team around Stewart at PG. SM would get his minutes (though probably less mpg than at any time in his career). Of course SM would be appreciated -- he's a great kid, a team leader, and a very good mid-major PG.

I just don't see him staying if Les goes. In fact, I think any new coach will have one helluva time convincing Les' recruits to come to BU. This doesn't mean I don't want a change of coaches. It's just that we would probably have to take a step back before moving forward.

It's in here somewhere. I wasn't listening to Dave, but someone said Dave mentioned Sam M. will only be here is JL is the coach.

I thought players played for a school and not a coach. Last time I checked Bradley was on the front of the jersey, not Jim Les.

I guess "once a Brave, always a Brave" is just something you put on a wristband.

Nice first post joe. NOT! The kid will graduate. He's done. He fulfilled his part in the deal. If he loses his coach (and probably several teammates) he has every right to maximize his opportunities. His other option would be to get a job. Something all graduates strive for.

Gimme a break! Come on man!
