Change the White out...

Hey lets all contact the Sports dept to see if we can get the CU and MSU games changed. It only makes sense.

I'm going to thanks them first for the GREAT ideas and promos then kindly suggest they reconsider the MSU white out for obvious reasons.

DC or T..or anyone else, I can't find the Email address for Bobby Parker to forward the request.

I agree with you. If anyone has the email's, I know some of you guys do, we could all send them an good email about changing the red-out to the MSU game.

Yeah....and make it a POSITIVE request. Again.....this is not a complaint just a suggestion from fans that care. If they can't becuase its too late...so be, it but it doesn't hurt to ask.

BU should be applauded for their efforts. We just want to help "perfect" them. :)

Well said.

I was going to ask last night if anyone had a contact or a possible way to try and get these two games switched, but figured it would fall on deaf ears since the schedules were already printed. Hopefully, they can still be switched as it really shouldn't matter that they've already announced the promo schedule since it's just a free t-shirt and not a halftime act.

I agree it needs to be changed as all we want Mich. St. to see is red everywhere as they are use to seeing white; they have plenty of time to change it but I would also like to see us stay with red the whole season as if you keep changing most of the fans coming will only be confused as most do not pay attention to what to wear on game night and during last seasons red out and white out I thought the red stood out a lot more then the white did .

The confusion among the fans should be avoided as the t-shirts are distributed at the games.

Ann Coulter? Is that you?

I have no intention of sending anyone angry emails or complaints. Sorry if it seamed that way. I wish the arena was a red out every game, but that is up to the fans.

Oh I agree Stryker and wasn't suggesting you did or would do anything else. Just didn't want this to sound like a bunch of angry fans complaining about something just to complain. Quite the opposite. Again I APPLAUD BU for their creativity and action.

It just seemed obvious as alot of fans have stated the same thing...anyone watching MSU games understands they are known for THEIR white outs.

In the end the play ON the court will dictate a W or an L but nothing wrong with getting the 6th man involved as much as possible.

It may be too late for a change. The schedule of promotional events is printed on thousands of schedules that have been circulated to the public.

So if this cannot be changed, let's support the events the way they are currently. Who knows, maybe Bradley's white-out will get into the Michigan State player's heads.

Do you really think the way the crowd looks is going to have any significant effect upon a perennial powerhouse in college hoops? I think the promotion should be changed too, but I don't really think anything other than 11K SCREAMING BU fans and a great performance from 5 young men in white and red on the court will get to the Spartans.

As long as the place is shaking with excitement, everything on the court will take care of itself however it is meant to happen. I'd say playing a potential Final Four team who will be ranked and who also wiped the floor with us last season will be enough motivation to get them up for that night.

If anything I think it might have an effect on our guys more, since they're not used to that kind of "background" to play. Mich. St. will be used to it.

I think that red is more intimidating then white and agree with Stryker about all red outs; as far as handing out the t-shirts which is a great idea there are still people that refuse to wear them for whatever reason and just because it says on the promotional schedules that Mich. St. is a white out it could be changed as it is still several weeks away ; how hard would it be to say an error was made and it is being corrected as mistakes do happen.

We wont know if it is too late to change the white out unless we ask. Sure the schedules have been printed, but changing the venue to a red out is a great idea and there is certainly time to implement this change with a little effort.

Colors

Colors

Colors have no more to do with the team's performance than standing up does. (Are you listening KW?) The crowd will react, as they always do, to great play by the Braves. They are the cause, we are the effect ... which is not to say they don't feed off the excitement they create.

Have you played organized sports? You get so much more of an adrenaline rush playing in front of a huge home crowd than a small one or a hostile away crowd... You can overcome it, but to say it doesn't help or hurt or that it is only an effect of what the team does is just not true...

I am still not a fan of the MSU white-out as I think that MSU would feel more at home shooting into a white background. But as a possible positive, in a whiteout:
1) Usually the student section wears the opposite color of the croud. In a white-out, the student section should be wearing red. At least MSU would be shooting into an unfamiliar red section
2) A white-out looks better on TV. Live, the BU court lines were creme colored. On TV the lines would look pure white, so everything appears too dark on TV. A red croud looks somewhat dead on TV.

I'm almost changing my mind about the white-out...

I remember thinking the white-out was neat, and I like the idea of having some of them... It would have been best to avoid white for MSU though.
