WSU at Home, Drexel at Home, and Creighton at Creighton are no gimmes for a team who doesn't always show up.

Hard to believe but this BU team could end up 13-17, 8-10 in the MVC, 0-2 vs ISU, and 0-1 in the MVC Tourney by March 4th or March 5th.

Shouldn't happen, but nothing would surprise me with this BU Team.

Not what we were all hoping for back in Sept 2009...

We also could win out be 19-13 heading into our first round NCAA game which we would then go on to win to get to our famous benchmark of 20 wins!

BU in a must win situation Wednesday and here's why. Mo st will probably lose tomorrow and win wed against drake at home, getting to 8-9. ISU blue will likely lose to isu red but finish with mo st, the winner getting to 9 wins. creighton will likely lose at siu and beat us getting to 9-9 as well. in this scenario, we go to the 6 with an isu blue win as we lose the round robin with CU,BU, and ISU. If msu wins, we're still the 6 under the same round robin as we lose tiebreaker there. We need CU to beat SIU somehow to get us a shot at the 5. in 8-10 tiebreakers, we nip isu blue i believe in tiebreaker points by 1 as there would only be two 8-10 teams possible as long as msu loses tomorrow and wins wed. due to tonight's loss, our most likely finish is where i feared the most, a 3-6 death match with ISU...who will destroy us a third time. All we had to do was beat a team missing 3 starters and we failed.....again.

This team is destined to be in close games no matter what the rest of the season. That's what I've decided. Win or lose they'll go down to the final minute. We'll see what happens.

Tiebreaker points with ISU Blue and MSU at 8-10 would be too close to call. It would depend on the final standings. Get to 9 wins to be safe, and if we must finish 8-10, then let the home teams win in the remaining games involving MSU and Drake. We avoid Thursday that way as well due to the round-robin tiebreaker for 6th.

I'm glad this program has gotten to the point where 9-9 in conference play isn't "worst case scenario". Let that resonate...

i know this might sound funny but do you think sometimes we are just a little unlucky. i thought indiana state played over their head tonight.

that shot by dse was clutch.what a bomb.

I dont believe we played over our head when we have been playing like that for about a 5 game stretch now....considering in our game against drake we had around 18 Assists 3 Turnovers...That teams just basketball smart...alot of them just played that "hoosiers" style of high school basketball that is fundamental hit the open shot type of basketball...nothing too fancy...just athletic enough to make plays....just good enough shooters to make you pay...

You certainly have a way for finding the worst-case scenario AZ.

Yeah, I guess I am a half empty personality.

Every time I try and get up for the Braves after big wins, I get disappointed. Thought I'd try the negative approach and see if BU can then run off 3-6 in a row.

I was pretty pumped up for BU entering this season and thought things could break for them. I agreed with others BU could be in the top 3 of the MVC if Warren and Egolf played to form. It appears BU needs more than that to get to the top.

AZ we need to find a way to pound the ball inside and play D in the paint without having to foul to stop the other team from scoring. It is that simple. I believe the players we have are good but we are missing one guy. After all this is a team sport. If we miraculously find a big for next year we'll be very good and if AT steps up and can be the backup, LIGHTS OUT folks. Otherwise there will be a better product on the floor,, but not what the majority here on the board expect or probably except. I hope I am wrong but as said by Albert Einstein,"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

I know, it's almost impossible for a team to find a true big!

I hope it is as easy as getting a big player SFP.

I look at how BU loses games, with impatience, up and down rebounding, up and down FT shooting, with streaky shooting from the perimeter, up and down defensive intensity, and too often too much one on one driving to the basket and I wonder, is one 'big' going to make a 'big' difference.

For some reason, BU as a team seems to be less than the sum of its individual parts.

Next year we shall see if we have the players to win games. Unfortunately, BU doesn't have a lot of open scholarships available to bring in new talent. BU loses two players for next year, and three more the year after that. The core of the team will be here the next three years.

JW and a real big the following year Harris and 2 guards! We'll have enough guards next year, especially if we can push WE and TB down to the 3 and 4 position.

I'm not sure what starting a thread like this accomplishes, besides satisfying people's schadenfreude.

You and I are in the same camp here my friend. This has been a very frustrating year for everybody. :(

I normally satisfy my schadenfreude with whisky...;)

I guess my thread is no different than all the threads started which say BU should finish with 3 wins, 4 wins, a MVC championship, an NIT bid, a CBI bid, etc.

Don't know what these threads accomplish either, other than to try and soften the kool aid induced hangovers some of the posters must have from this BU season..
