Bradley extends radio coverage on WMBD

Nice to see the relationship between 1470 and BU continue...I've met Danny once and he seems to be a very well spoken young man... should be good. On a different note...I wonder if BU would consider expanding the "radio network" as in the past if we experience some significant success this year and next? Of course, it's all about ratings and revenue...

Wow, Danny has humongous shoes to fill in Stowell and Buescher (468 years of BU experience between them), but I think he will be fine. Best of luck DA!

BU fans may be listening a lot more to Dave Snell and Danny this season that they have been used to. I expect fewer road games will be televised.

I wish they would bring back the midnight rebroadcasts. I always liked listening to the games if I was AT the home game.

I am NOT happy with this at ALL. I have met Danny several times, even shared several drinks with him, and he's a really good guy, but his on-TV presence is abyssmal. He often trips over his words and rarely provides insightful commentary. I hope it was just nerves and he's excellent and transfers brilliantly to radio, but I just don't see it happening at this moment.

When will we find this out? I really wish we could get a solid regional TV package, including St. louis and Chicago markets.

Supposedly they were still trying to negotiate a contract similar to their Comcast contract last year, but from what I hear that isn't going well.

I am looking forward to this season more than ever, and now we may not be seeing as many games?
I hope they're really pushing hard for telecasts for Chicagoans.
I don't mind paying a little extra for a package.
I'd watch a BU-Northern IL game over a Bears regular season game, and I'm a solid Bears fan, but nothin' beats BU hoops, baby!

Anyone would struggle when they first start.

Wanted to post the same thing, but anything remotely critical is of course pure evil negativity. So, Ill just second you and let you get the :( for the day.

I was hoping they would work out a deal with one of the broadcast stations like WAOE or any of the 25.1.2.3, 19.2, 31.2, etc. stations. That way bradley fans would not be tied to the lackluster cable and terrible customer service of Comcast.

In the past has the comcast contract been a situation where BU buys airtime and sells their own advertising/pays for the production?

Isn't a little premature to start criticizing Danny before he ever does a single game? Anyone who knows or has ever talked to Danny knows he is a little shy, and on the TV broadcasts he was clearly nervous. I think on radio he'll do a good job and will develop into a knowledgeable and informative color guy. Let's give him a chance.

THAT, to me, is the key.

Don't get me wrong... Skewer him after a few games if you'd like... but give the guy a shot!

I'm more than willing to give the guy a chance here, like I said I like the guy and have hung out with him at the last MVC tourney games, but I am very skeptical and think there were probably a couple better choices.

Congratulations to Dan for continuing his career in Peoria and with BU.

Dan worked for me as a marketing intern at Cat back when he was playing at BU.

Excellent person, SMART, and a hard worker. Comes from a great family.

I think he will do well in this job and I bet Dave Snell, and others, will help mentor him in his new role.

Having had experience in doing both during my Cat career, being LIVE in front of a TV camera is definitely different/tougher than talking over the radio.

Insights from former players can be as enlightening as from former coaches!

Please give the guy a chance (or two) before forming an opinion.

I think it's fair for someone to say they are skeptical based on his lackluster TV performances. I know he wouldn't be my first choice.

But I'm sure he's a much cheaper option than someone with more experience.

Does this mean Stowell won't even be doing the home games?

I don't understand why he could do women's games, but not the men's home games.

All I personally ask for from a color analyst is honesty and objectivity, not cheerleading or apologizing. We were lucky to get that from Coach Stowell for several years, and from Chuck up until last year.

Good luck DA, I'm pulling for ya!
