Andrew Warren

I was just wondering what you guys were continuing to think of him? I haven't gotten to see him play at Bradley yet :( Stupid work at IU getting in my way. I'm hoping that maybe if the cards fall right an IU vs. Bradley NCAA tourney matchup might happen. :D I was just wondering what you thought about him as far as other freshmen you have seen at Bradley. I was saying I thought he would come in and contribute right away and that he would be very mature for a freshmen. Have I been proven correct?

I don't think anyone was doubting you, but nonetheless, Andrew is one of the better freshmen BU has had in the last decade.

Oh, I didn't think you guys were either.

AW is playing very good for a frosh.......and he has his ups and downs but is really seems to be building some confidence of late (due to the JC injury) with the extra PT .... AW will end up being a solid player @ BU! Another year in the weight-room will help his game a lot! Wouldn't trade AW for any other freshman in the VALLEY........! :D

Are you just humoring me now?

Agree.
Andrew is not just a shooter, and certainly isn't one dimensional.
He can play D, he can hit outside, run the floor, and drive to the hoop. I believe he has as much potentioal as any freshman in the league. I also wouldn't trade him for any freshman in the Valley.

This has always been the biggest misconception about Drew. IMO his best offensive attribute isn't necessarily his shot, but his tremendous body control while in the air. His pull up J from the FT line was money in HS. His D has improved by leaps and bounds over the years.

I third that. His upside is far and away greater than any other Frosh I have seen.
Weight room + confidence + Good Coaching=Andrew Warren all MVC.

One thing you need to know......and could probably tell by the # of post I have........BU basketball is very important to me or I wouldn't spend 2 hours a night on this site looking for anything new on the Braves! Remember........the thing that makes this site different than most D1 fan sites is most of the posters are not college students......my son is going to BU next fall......BU has a lot of fans who have been out of school for years and really like our team.....this is our biggest sport in Central Illinois and that's why we average over 9000 fans a game! So anyway....I wouldn't tease you or make light of you and your best friend from HS.......I really enjoy your insight and input to the board!

Oh no offense taken. I know how big bball is in central Illinois and I must make it to the hilltop at some point.

Do yourself a favor and get on over.........watch AW play and see what the staff has done since last season .....losing 67% of the scoring from the SWEET 16 team and revamping the O' to match the player's we have! I think the Braves are still ranked nat'l 1 or 2 in 3 pt shooting......and I have to admit..I have started likeing it better than a dunk :-o ........they have 204 makes this season already and the all-time school record is 224.......so avg 11 a game , it should fall in a couple more games! 8)

Yeah the 3 point shooting is impressive its been mention several times on ESPN. I've tried to make it there a couple times now but school works keeps getting in the way. I guess I'll just have to settle for my 13-4 (4-1 in the Big 10) Hoosiers right now.  The Hilltop certainly sounds like something I want to experience as a bball fan.

He's getting playing time because he can play some D. One thing I've noticed is that he gets a lot of deflections, but not many steals. I think next year those deflections will turn into two points the other way.

AW has had the usual ups and downs that most freshmen have. It's easy to see his potential. To get playing time next year, he will have to improve. With Ray Brown returning, Williams arriving and Crouch back for his senior year, it's a crowded position. I think most BU fans are confident he will contribute heavily in the future.

just another reason to play him over twy or at least more often- he can gain experience and twy has nothing to gain up for next year- plus hes better in general anyway!
