Alvin Brooks III is leaving Bradley to take a job as an associate coach at another D1 school close to his hometown of Houston, Texas.

Bradley is not announcing the new school, but it is possible to discover it by checking other sites on the internet.
If anyone wants to know where AB3 is headed and where he will be coaching next year, feel free to PM me.

There has been no official announcement of a replacement or a timetable to hire one. But Dave Reynolds' article notes that Tracy Webster, recently let go as the interim head coach at DePaul, was seen on campus Tuesday with Coach Les. I have heard there are other potential candidates, too.

Thanks to Alvin Brooks III and good luck!

I wish AB3 the best of luck. He seems like a decent guy and nothing wrong with wanting be closer to home. Trying to get those Texas boys to head up to Illinois may have been pretty difficult I bet. I hope you enjoyed your time on The Hilltop.

It was a pleasure having AB3 on campus. Thanks and good luck!

I think Webster got the short end of the stick at DePaul. Their record was awful under him, but he did a great job with very little talent. He would be an excellent assistant in Peoria.

Yeah, at least he didn't want to be closer to home in LA via NM, like some others who have departed. LOL

Best of luck AB3! Looking forward to the day we can follow you as a head b-ball coach.

Anyone with thoughts on the Tracy Webster news?

Why the secrecy on where he is going?

From the PJStar article...

"We can't say yet what the school is because of job posting laws," said BU coach Jim Les. "But Alvin is excited about returning to his home state of Texas and we're really excited for him to have this opportunity. We're very appreciative of the hard work, time and commitment he's given to our program. We wish him well."

Good luck to him, sure hope we are hiring T.Webster as it could be our biggest difference maker yet on getting great players out of Chicago and the midwest.

Congrats to AB3 also on this... he's done a great job bringing in some talent.

Doesn't sound like many expected a full line change for our assistants this year (except Vogt, who got to transition for a few months). While a little uncertain about such a large shuffle, it actually gets me pretty excited about next year. Platt bringing some defensive focus and experince... Vogt bringing a young, fresh view point and knowing the players and Les' system quite well, and now a new guy... this should hopefully turn out be a very balanced, talented staff. Hopefully our next assistant is a great recruiter and maybe has some big man skills!

Whats Tracy Webster's skillset? I know he was at DePaul, but I don't know what, in particular, his strengths are as a coach.

Kyle Vogt is very hard-working, loyal and very knowledgable about the game. He will do just fine!

That is all well and good but if he is unable to get out and get into homes of higher end recruits, then in this day and age of college basketball his hard working, loyalty and knowledge isnt real useful. BU needs a highly connected assistant, actually more then just one. From all appearances Vogt is not that person. It is all about recruiting.

Even if Webster is a short term solution... I am certain he has higher aspirations he is a big time upgrade and well worth the job.

Huh? Vogt can stay and we will still bring in another coach? So what's your issue with Vogt staying on? We aren't going to bring in some big name recruiter as a 3rd assistant. Vogt is the ideal 3rd assistant.
