Nice game! And an opportunity for fans to make a quick trip to Las Vegas.
Loyola Marymount was 13-9 this past season, and 7-5 in the West Coast Conference. They finished 3rd in the WCC behind #1 Gonzaga and #2 BYU. Their RPI was 72, and their NET rank was 99.

Drake will play St. Louis in a neutral-site game in Las Vegas. Official dates and times are yet to be determined.

This road game at Toledo was originally part of a 2-game, home-and-home series between Bradley and Toledo that was agreed to prior to the 2019-20 season.
The first of the original 2-game series was Bradley against Toledo in Peoria on Dec. 28, 2019, which Bradley won 78-66-

But then Bradley was matched against Toledo in the first round of the 2021-22 Xavier Invitational, which BU won 61-59 on a last-second, game-winning shot by Terry Nolan, Jr.

So Bradley and Toledo agreed to move this game at Toledo to the 2021-22 season. Now it is officially on the schedule for Tusday, Dec. 7, 2021.

Yes, that is true with a lot of upcoming events, especially now with travel and socialization restrictions being ramped up again.

Note that the only games officially posted on the 2021-22 Bradley schedule are the 3 games in the Paradise Jam Nov. 19-22-

This event seems pretty well confirmed. Bradley is said to be playing Sam Houston State on Tuesday, Dec. 21, then the winner of that game will play UTEP the next day (Wednesday, Dec. 22). The loser, apparently, will play NC Central.

On the other hand, the only source that has ever reported the Bradley game in Las Vegas against Loyola Marymount was this tweet 2½ months ago by CBS Sports college basketball writer Jon Rothstein. No other source has confirmed this-

It appears the Las Vegas game either fell apart or was moved, and Bradley replaced it with these 2 games in El Paso.

Bradley is scheduled to play 3 games in the 2021 Paradise Jam Nov. 19-22.
They were also scheduled to play in the 2020 Paradise Jam in November, 2020, but because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 Paradise Jam was moved to the mainland and played in Washington DC. Most of the original scheduled participants, including Bradley, pulled out.
A month ago, things were looking good for this year's tournament to proceed as planned. However, in just the last few weeks, things have taken a sharp turn for the worse. The Virgin Islands are currently experiencing their worst surge of the pandemic-

Every day this month, they have recorded more new cases than on any day prior to this month. And the number of new Covid cases this month is roughly equal to the cumulative number of cases throughout the pandemic prior to this month. They have a real significant surge going on, and their limited hospital beds are filling up quickly. And we are just 3 months from the Paradise Jam tournament.

As of now, the Virgin Islands government has not reinstated any increased restrictions to citizens or travelers, but that could be next.
 
Unfortunately, the surge in new Covid cases in the Virgin islands is continuing, and it has to be concerning for the organizers of the 2021 Paradise Jam, and the teams involved.
Recall that they cancelled the St. Thomas event on September 17, 2020 (almost 1 year ago) and announced they would relocate the tournament elsewhere-

That was at a time when the Virgin Islands was experiencing an average of only 5 new cases per day.

The 7-day rolling daily average now (as of 8/22/21) is around 50 new cases per day, approximately 10 times more cases/day then when they made the announcement to relocate the tournament last year.

It seems likely that this issue might be one of the main factors holding up the finalizing of Bradley's 2021-22 schedule.
And if the Virgin Islands government looks like they may be going to re-impose tighter restrictions, Bradley will have to decide whether to pull out again, and the organizers of this event will have to consider relocating again. We'll continue to follow the daily reports from the USVI and from the Paradise Jam organizers.

That makes for another nice Saturday home game. This is the payback game with St. Joseph's for the game Bradley played there in November, 2019. The original scheduled return game last year was cancelled and moved to this season.

But so far, this is only the 2nd home game on the 2021-22 non-conference schedule, in addition to the game vs. Maine on Nov. 27.
There are already 5 neutral site games (3 at the Paradise Jam & 2 at UTEP), and 2 true road games (South Dakota State and Toledo).
In past seasons, we usually have had 7 or 8 home non-conference games (last year there were only 5 due to an abbreviated non-conference schedule).
But with 7 non-home games already on the schedule, it looks like even if all the remaining games are at home, we will have no more than 6 home games maximum. Let's hope for 4 more good home games!

Disclaimer: this is only a tentative schedule. For several reasons, there could still be changes to come.

QUESTION: With the cost to rent out the Civic Center, and with the potential for limited attendance due to COVID, does Bradley make more in revenue by going on the road for away games? As we all know, Bradley is not in the greatest financial position at the moment.
