Bradley Women

The Braves played hard, and actually lead 76-70 in OT1. But they lost in 2 OTs Of course I'd rather that they won, but this team is vastly improved from last year.

The Bradley women won tonight at Drake 71-64-
https://bradleybraves.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats/2025-26/drake-university/boxscore/22711

That improves their record this season to 11-6 overall, and 4-2 in the MVC.
The BU women have not had very good success playing Drake, especially in Des Moines.
Their last win over Drake was March 14, 2021 in the 2021 MVC Tournament.
They had lost their last 4 games in Des Moines., and their last 10 games against Drake overall.
Their last win at Drake in Des Moines was Jan. 2, 2021 (Covid year when they played two games at Drake on Jan 1 and Jan. 2, 2021).

And that win in 2021 broke an 11 game losing streak at Drake going back to January 24, 2010.
So prior to tonight, the BU Women had lost 15 of their last 16 games in Des Moines, with the only win coming Jan. 2, 2021.
Congratulations Coach Pop and the BU Women!

The Bradley women came close to a sweep on the Iowa trip. After a big win Friday at Drake, the women lost a close one at UNI 70-73.
The BU women are now 11-7 overall, and 4-3 in the MVC

A win at Drake and fought right to the end at UNI. I would call that a very good weekend for the ladies and they are very young playing only 2 seniors. The rest are freshmen and sophomores

The Bradley women improve to 12-7 and 5-3 in the MVC with a 40-point win over Valparaiso, 79-39-
Box score- https://bradleybraves.com/sports/wo.../2025-26/valparaiso-university/boxscore/22713

Valparaiso drops to 0-20 on the season.
The BU women play UIC Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Renaissance Coliseum.
The Bradley women are similar to the men, a young team. They have a good nucleus for next year if they can get everybody to come back. I watched them play last night. Moving very well and hitting their shots

The Bradley women are similar to the men...
The Bradley women are in 3rd place, just a couple games back...
and they host Drake tonigh with the chance that a win could pull them within a game of 2nd place Belmont
and a game and a half from 1st place Murray State.

Bradley WBB getting absolutely destroyed by the refs...
foul differential 26 to 7!! Two BU starters fouled out & another with 4 fouls.
Then they whistled a foul to waive off a desperately needed 3-pointer in OT!

and why didn't they foul in the final 20 seconds of OT? They just let the clock run out when they were trailing by 4?

I wondered about them not fouling at the end as well. And yes, we got called for a LOT of offensive fouls.

After the Bradley women lost a tough overtime game at Illinois State this past Sunday, they are playing a home game tonight against the usually tough Northern Iowa women. Bradley is tied with UNI and ISU for 3rd place with a 7-4 MVC record.
