Almar Atlason commits to Miami Ohio

Maybe it's just me, but why Almar being discussed if he no longer plays for Bradley? I'll bet he's getting more coverage here than on the Miami (OH) board (I haven't checked, nor will I).

Now, bring on the flaming.
no doubt, but the thread's clearly labelled for those who don't care, and he did play more games here than guys like Patrick O'Bryant,
Zach Andrews, or Terry Roberts and helped us win games - and I still follow all the former Braves.
Plus, it's the only actual basketball going on in the entire world.

followup on Almar
in their final game of group play Iceland did indeed get clobbered by France 114-74, but since they had no chance of advancing their coach did
give playing time to the guys on the team who had played the least. So Almar got 13 minutes of playing time, went 1-7 and 0-5 from 3-pt,
ended with just 2 pts, 1 reb. Iceland finishes 0-5 in group play and thus their FIBA Eurobasket 2025 season is over.
France, Poland, Israel & Slovenia qualify for the Round of 16 games from Group D. Begium & Iceland are eliminated.
Knockout Round games begin Saturday & run thru next weekend with semi's on Sept. 12 & Championship Sept. 14.

Miami had their Red-White scrimmage, and a couple observers who commented on their message board & X
said Almar was one of the most impressive players.
"Of the new guys Almar was the most impressive. ... really skilled at 6’8” and has an impressive stroke. I’m guessing he’ll find a lot of minutes this year. Fits in perfectly with how we play."
and
" Atlason the transfer from Bradley is a real nice addition."

I hope Almar is finally able to live up to the expectations that we all had for him. He's now at a lower level of competition in the MAC which should give him a better chance to have a successful season.

Almar had his short comings, (as do most mid major players) but I think his experience and maturity would have helped our younger team. Hopefully he does well at Miami.
