Xzavier Taylor wants to come back?

Xzavier Taylor

Xzavier Taylor

What are all of your thoughts about Taylor coming back? How would Coach Wardle react to this and the rest of the team that stayed?

What are your thoughts about Taylor as a gifted athlete who would be a difference maker? Does he have the skills we need?

XT is a good kid and I applaud that he has stayed on track academically & has been one who has NOT had too much of the off-court issues...
but my guess is that the batch of schools is pretty slim who want a player that they have to use 3 years of scholarships to get 2 years of play - who averages more fouls per game than points or rebounds, who owns a career total of only 11 assists in almost 1000 minutes of basketball, and who makes only about 1/3 of his layups & 1/2 of his FTs

I never questioned Xzavier's energy and work ethic, and I believe with the right coaching, he could be a good MVC front-court player.
I guess we'll see if Coach Wardle thinks so.

I would have him back. Kind of balances out our class as well. We are thin up front to say the least. Having said that, I'm not privy to how everything went down, so if there is something there that BW knows or sees and doesn't have him back, I'll understand that too

I would love to see Jimmy Foster work with him for two years. Maybe he can still develop into a true MVC center. I would leave that decision to the coaching staff AND players. Sometimes that grass is not always greener

I say NO WAY. He burned his bridge. There is a life lesson in here way more valuable than playing basketball. Just my opinion..

Thanks

Thanks

Those are good thoughts on Taylor. Thank you guys.

My thoughts are he might have been a little jittery his first season against MVC level competition. He has the size and sounds like the work ethic to bang around in there. We need height right now, and until Coach Wardle thinks he isn't athletic enough, I am for him coming back. He should be over the jitters, he perhaps can be 'coached up", he should be better with better players around him and some discipline instilled by Coach Wardle.

I will stand behind what ever Coach Wardle decides. I think he has his eyes on players that are bigger and are very athletic. We need the impact players, so I am hoping the 3 new signees are all part of a new level of athletic ability. If Taylor can be part of the athleticism too, let's take him back.

I wasn't too disappointed to see Taylor go because I didn't think he developed at all his sophomore season, and if anything he might've regressed. But if Wardle thinks he can get more out of him than Ford (not too crazy a thought) then he should take him back, assuming Taylor didn't do anything too crazy to burn that bridge (and I haven't heard any such thing). I think the potential is there, but there's only two years left to find it.

I think I would consider taking him back but w/ the understanding that he redshirts next year and then has two years left. The potential is there but has never been developed

Xavier, like every other player on Geno's teams got worse every year Geno coached him. This kid clearly has talent, and I am glad he's going to stick around, so we can find out what Wardle can do with him.

A little coaching can go a long ways with kid like this.
