Wilkins to ISU?

So I am on this board like 39 hours a day and I miss the girl post...

I noticed that a person name Julie0001 or something signed up last night and I was gonna be like "The first bradleywomanfan poster?"

anyways....this is lame.....reading that board of theirs annoys me so much....as they all know nothing about him.

Also, This Danny Cooksey dude has lost all my respect. Get off of BUfans

There was a poster claiming to be the girlfriend with a long speel about jw. That thread was deleted. I don't bother to get on their board. What did Cooksey do to lose your respect?

Here is the official announcement about JW signing his NLI-

Note the line-
John Wilkins, a 6-foot-9, 205-pound guard, has signed a National Letter of Intent

I have heard descriptions of JW from many who have seen him play, and I have never heard him described as a guard.

You may have your answer as to why he went to ISU! Do you think they promised him he could be a guard? Probably not...

Also, would love to dig up some of the posts made by ISU fans when he committed to BU & it looked like he was coming here... I'll bet they weren't quite as respectful as the stuff being said here. I'm also sure some from other boards will be around to stir the pot. There are a ton of Mecca haters out there...

I remember JW was very highly touted when he was first recruited by BU so as others have said, I wish the kid well, except when he plays BU.

BTW - the release says he will have 3 years of eligibility remaining - shooting down those erroneous reports that he has 3.5 or four full years left..

Well, hopefully, this will make the student section be more organized for at least ONE game. I'll probably end up going to Illinois, but i'll always be a BU fan. My only regret is that I didn't go to BU and organize the student section. I would really like to see the day people COMPETE for tickets to the games.

I have a thought...maybe a lesson for the people at ISU and any school....

this could have gone so much differently and so much better for those involved..

had ISU only kept in touch with Jeff Wilkins and known 2-3 years ago about his kid...or been more receptive when Jeff Wilkins brought his kid back here.......
and then Jeff could have worked to get his kids into a US high school, then graduated with a US high schol diploma....
then he could have gone direct to ISU and could have already been playing the past two years...
The only holdup is that ISU has snubbed the Wilkinses and FF the past many years...but to their credit they played their cards right and lucked into a situation where John's verbal first to BU then to Iowa State fell thru......
(only NCAA's fateful action kept John from being a Brave...)
In the end....the Wilkinses are fortunate to have a place to go and Jeff will finally begin to get the career recognition he long has deserved...and ISU gets a good player.....
Note -- BU's excellent relationships with their old players has landed us kids like Eddie Mathews, Sam Maniscalco, Daniel Ruffin, and even as an offshoot - we have gotten kids like Boogie, Zach Andrews, Jake Eastman & Will Egolf because of JL's NBA connections, and Cellus & DSE because of Chuck Buescher's connections.........all because the ex-BU players are always still heroes to us and welcome at BU!!

Actually, I'd say it worked out pretty good for ISU in the end. I think your rose-colored glasses are a little foggy tornado. I still see clearly with mine. I see a 6'8" 265 lb. HORSE that solves our problems....... Not a skinny T. Wilson/ A. Warren clone that might not have done our team much good anyway.

He goes straight over the redbird fan board bashing Bradley....then comes here and is civil....

Actually, I'd say it worked out pretty good ..

perhaps..but isn't 4 years with no penalty (which under the above scenario might have been achievable) ..better than 3 years minus a 5-game penalty...and a 2-3 year rusty stretch where he hasn't played...?
I think even the ISU people would agree...

I guess nobody knows what position he plays. This blogger from Indiana says Wilkins is a power forward-

also, as we've seen before, when he lists other schools JW considered, he omits Bradley.:?
