Why making the NCAA's needs to be a priority

I went to Bradley in '83 and having us go and win the NIT the year before really help put them on the map for me.

I would be interested to see how Drake is effected in the next few years. I think they will see a drastic bump of applications since it seems like every article about the surprise basketball team mentions how good of an academic school it is. Plus, the four degrees and 3.97 gpa of the Valley MVP make the school look good.

I heard that after BU's Sweet 16 run we got more applications for admission than ever before (I think it was twice as many as previously). Glasser knows this to be true and it can only help BU select even better students, and enhance their academic reputation.

It also shows why not just making the tourney once, but sustained success is so important.

yeah....it's amazing how many people don't know where BU or Drake or other private institutions are. I had a college student in my home thise weekend. He thought Drake was in Kansas and didn't know Bradley was in Peoria until he met my daughter

As I have said here before, Stan Albeck, and Jim Molinari both told me they had to overcome this problem with Bradley's identity and location when they recruited kids, even in Illinois!

It is certainly a strike against you when you have to explain that you are a Division I school, and where you are located before you can even get in the door with most recruits.
