What would be a successful campaign for BU to you this year?

This coming season is in so many more ways than one a completely new beginning which in and of itself demands a change in how the entirety of what he have so long grown accustomed to in all of these same regards. We all go to the civic center to see THE GAME. Not the announcer doing his best at and of taking the wind out of the sails of any home court advantage we should have mostly for the sake of the same. Who needs to know two minutes to go in the half? WHY????? Who needs to be told the song being played is the 'traditional' Bradley Fight Song? Again, WHY????? Will it again this coming year be the yawnful repetition of the same few songs in the same order at such a fast pace or clip we can do nothing in joining along in the intent of these tunes helping our home team? Yet even more 'trivial pursuits' at every time out break doing absolutely nothing in getting the crowd in to a fevered pitch assisting the winning of THE GAME???

Closer to the action, MAKE uncontested layups and free throws. QUIT bringing the ball down the same side of the court every time on offense at least adding something to what should be for the same moment an advantage. HAVE several successful in bounds plays garnering points and maybe even foul shots. I am tired of losing. Exhausted.

We have made some changes and expectations for this team vary to some degree. The injury to WE could impact the expected results to some degree. Who needs to step up to make a large impact on this team. Will the new recruits help make BU a surprise team?

I had very high expectations, top 3, if JL was retained. Do we give GF a break? Are his recruits more a re-building project?

If AT steps up, we find a few shooters and just one of the freshmen steps in for some real meaningful minutes we can contend. Too me there are to many question marks on this team. TB is rounding back to form, a freshman will have to play meaningful minutes at PG, very little depth with bigs and no one has shown that they can rebound consistently. GF has his work cut out for him. While at Kent State he showed that he can take new teams in mold them into winners. I hope he can work the same magic.

I think you have to give GF a break because we lost two or three HUGE pieces to this team when Les was let go. He would have had more to work with, so for me a fifth place finish and .500 or better would be sufficient for Geno's first year.

However, as you stated SFP, Geno has shown he can take a brand new team and reload on the run and win championships. I still think though as weak as the Valley may be this year that Wichita St. will be too good to unseat this year. But it would not surprise me if he can take Bradley to a top 3 finish this year even with the WE injury. Still though, fifth is probably a more realistic prediction and will be a nice step up considering what we went through last season!

Here are my standards:

- .500 record or better in Valley play
- Winning overall record - only 1 home loss in non-conf. games
- Compete and stay close in almost all games
- Don't blow leads to eventual loss

And two standards that you forgot to mention LittleBrave.

First, we need to beat teams we have no business losing to, especially by not blowing leads late in the game! That means you ISU red! Yes, the injuries decimated the team last year but we still had no business losing both of those games, or at the VERY least one of the two.

Second, when a starter is not playing to his potential, sit the guy out and play the hot hand so to speak. In other words if your freshman bench player is contributing more to the team, keep playing the guy until proven otherwise. At the very least the underclassmen will gain more experience for future seasons. While a lot of young players got good minutes last year, there was still a tendency for several of the better younger players spending too much time on the bench in favor of our remaining veterans. Not a knock on the previous coaching staff, just stating my philosophy of rewarding the better players for good play. It works almost on any team were it is tried, so BU has nothing to lose going this route as they are rebuilding this year.
