Heard the rumor that the Braves game at UNI will be in late December and will be the first MVC Conference game at the new UNI arena. Very nice exposure for the Braves.... playing a national TV game. Would be real nice if JJ can hit 3 first half 3 pointers like he did in Cedar Falls last year.....

This appears to be true, and here is further confirmation of it--

Just posted on the UNI fan's message board, Northern Iowa Athletic Director, Rick Hartzell, was on a sports radio show today and announced that UNI's opening home game of the 2006-2007 season will be December 27, 2006 at the new McLeod Center against Bradley and that it will be televised by ESPN.

There has been no release from Bradley regarding their conference schedule, yet.

The new McLeod center is a brand new, 7,000 seat basketball arena constructed adjacent to and just south of the UNI-Dome. It should be a huge improvement for the basketball program at UNI which has played home games on the floor of the UNI-Dome (an arena designed for football) for most of the past many seasons. Considering there were over 8,000 fans at the UNI-Dome for the game against Bradley last year (official attendance 8074), there should be a full house, and a ticket shortage for the game Dec. 27.

I am guessing UNI is going to be a little fired up for BU coming in there, considering we closed their old building with a 20 point @sswhooping of the Panthers last year.

I am sure you are right. That game (by the way you are being kind to UNI, it was 22 point shellacking- 71-49) was the most embarrassing loss they have had there in many years.
They will want revenge.

good exposure plus we should be able to handle uni again this season as they we be down. the game last season when we won there was the most critical of the season tunaround, imo.

They still have the best frontcourt in the league. Stout and Coleman are better than any bigs we have. They're young at guard, but Travis Brown showed some flashes last year. Plus, they're going to be out to avenge the embarrassment we gave them last year.

salley and zack will hold those two down and we will win with our superior backcourt!! plus they lost their coach who was a good one.

Flipper - I love the optimism.... let's hope you are right...
