He was not injured. He just possibly could have died if he played. Sounds like a clear hardship case to me.
 
Whatever happens, we'll have to remain within the 13 scholarship limit, so if somehow TB or any graduating senior could return, the coach has to find a scholarship for him somewhere.

You're not understanding the typical hardship case. TWO years must be lost to injury. TB lost one to health concerns and one was a normal redshirt year. Not a clear hardship case whatsoever, it would actually have to be a special exception.

If Jank gets fired by ISU after the season we can hire him as a consultant. I'm sure he can help BU figure out a way to go over the limit and free up a few spots. ;) :lol:

The Conqs of Dodge City Community College will take the floor tonight to start the season versus Tabor College. Earlier in the day Garden State resident Tyshon Pickett decided to end his recruitment. Pickett recently visited Missouri Valley Conference school Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.

Next season Pickett will suit up for the Braves. Teammate RJ McGhee will be down the road about three hours at Eastern Illinois University. The strong post player averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds per game last season for the 19-12 Conqs.

Pickett shot 54 percent (156-287) from the floor.

That wasn't the case with Sam Singh and yet he got the sixth year...

Sam Singh was an example of a player who did lose 2 years to season ending injuries - factors completely out of his control - thus the NCAA ruled Sam Singh was eligible for a 6th year
TB lost one year due to a voluntary withdrawal from junior college - I would love to have him around next year but the NCAA isn't likely to allow it

If TB wants it and the NCAA does not grant the extra year what will the next player in his situation do? Will they play when they maybe should have taken a year off?
 
I have not seen Tyshown Pickett play but congrats to Geno Ford for getting his guy. He said he wanted a high school PG and JUCO forward and that's what he got.

Guys like Tyshown--6-6, 6-7 JUCO guys--have been very successful in the MVC and two of Jim Les' better recruits were that "type" of player. If Tyshown ends up anything like a Lawrence Wright or Theron Wilson then it will be a plus for sure.

Pickett chose Bradley over offers from a number of mid-majors, including Niagara, Middle Tennessee State, Siena, Arkansas-Little Rock. Missouri State, Wichita State, Utah State and Western Kentucky also showed strong interest.
“Tyshon is extremely skilled and can play inside or out,” said his Dodge City coach Brady Trenkle. “His skill level is just ridiculous. He has a nice touch out to the 3. He’s a high IQ player and he plays hard.
“And he’s a better kid than a basketball player. You’d be hard-pressed to find an inner-city kid without a tattoo, but he’s one.”
