Which basketball games are already slated to be shown on an ESPN channel or FSN? Thanks
DePaul will not play us, Loyola plays in Peoria this season along with NIU so not much left, drive down to Peoria as it is not that far for weekend games.I agree -- thank goodness!
If the Braves aren't coming to Chicago, the best we can hope for is multiple TV games.
I know this horse is probably dead, but with all the teams in and around Chi-town, we can't get one game per year up here? Wouldn't you think for recruiting purposes we could play somebody? Anybody?
Though no official announcements have been made about the local TV deal, it's looking like this year the Bradley TV games may not be on Comcast. That would mean no TV for those outside of Peoria, and it likely means a lot fewer TV games. Maybe it would help if fans let BU and Comcast know they would like to see them continue to broadcast the games.
real fan - trust me... I'd love to. My wife and I have a one-year-old, and my wife works every Sunday. I work Saturday mornings -- makes it tough.
I'm not complaining... I just would love to see the Braves hit Chicago once per year. There are plenty of teams up here... NIU, Loyola, UIC, DePaul, Northwestern, Chicago State (I know... a reach...) - what about a non-con game somewhere in Chicago (UC or Sears Centre... etc.) at a neutral site for both?
It would have been nice to see Sammy come back to Chicago to play one game his senior year!
I agree. Do you have a link to the right person at Comcast for that? I know of a good number of people who will help the cause for Chicago broadcasts again. Give me my Frank Bussone and his hairpiece!
There should be a game in Chicago every year really. That is fertile recruiting land, plus probably one of the largest alumni bases.

I don't think Loyola Chicago is playing here this year. We are playing Loyola Marymount of California.
Correct, we played them last year in a game I wanted to forget.

I vehemently disagree that a game is needed in Chicago every year.
As alluded to already, DePaul won't play us for a long time after the way we manhandled them the last series. Also, frankly, they aren't good right now.
I feel BU should have very strict rules on playing the Horizon League. Loyola and Butler period. Those two should be on the schedule nearly every year. I believe Loyola should be scheduled every year with 3 of every 4 in Peoria. If you do not play either of those then you can play other HL teams, like UIC or Detroit. But you should NEVER go there.
That leaves Northwestern, NIU and Chicago State. We can go to Evanston. We have no business ever going to NIU or Chicago State.
I think BU has tried to get games in the Chicago market. While there are theoretically recruiting benefits to Chicago exposure, we have only 2 guys on the roster from Chicago. Sr Maniscalco and Frosh Lemon.
I get why people want the Chitown area game, but that's small-minded regional-think. It is more important to establish a national brand. The Chicago media follows a winner regardless. Win and the rest takes care of itself.
Unless we are playing a BCS-type game in Chicago, BU can and should do better.
JMO.
That makes me upset! Last year was the 1st year I was able to watch games on Comcast in Chicago. At least there will be 6 games I can watch between ESPN 2 and MVC-TV. That's not enough though.
I will let them know what I think about this!
