Today on Monsters in the Morning the guys were talking about the NC v MSU game & Mike North (who I, like most generally view as a bit of a tool) said that Izzo likes to play tough teams early to prepare his guys for the Big Ten, and then makes this example, "like last year he played Bradley early..."

Thought it was kinda nice to hear a Chicago guy voice that he thought BU to be a good opponent for last year's NCAA runner-up.

Guess it doesn't take much to make me happy huh?

Last year they played Bradley right after playing Maryland, Oklahoma State, Wichita State, then UNC...

Mike North is a volunteer assistant coach at Niles Notre Dame high school where some guy named Tom Les is the head coach. Your coach is also a NND grad. Connect the dots........

...Connect the dots........

sure...it means he isn't just shooting from the lip in an uninformed manner like some...
he knows a lot about basketball from a first hand viewpoint, since he is actually in the coaching business......
thanks for pointing that out...

Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255 and IMPROVING DAILY.......

Funny thing is.....his last game produced his lowest point total and rebound total for the season, and it was the most minutes he's played in a game this season. I thought I heard somewhere that his free throws were also improved......all the way up to 50% for the year. :-o

I think we should lay off Dinma, he's giving ISU as much as they had hoped for...
only one center in the league grabs more rebounds, and only one center scores more points...although Taylor Brown exceeds both ...

How did he do on defense vs. Andrew Nicholson?

Nicholson came in avg 19 points and 9 boards.

He had 2 points and 3 boards in 15 minutes, before fouling out.

He's also the fourth-leading rebounder on their team per minute played.

Besides, I was just pointing out a couple of facts.

I assume this was the same Mike North who said that he wasn't sure who he'd rather have between LeBron and Deron Williams...I'll pass on feeling good about his comment.

Are you really trying to discredit him as a rebounder by spinning stats? The guy averages 7 boards per game. Same as last year.

Not at all......just pointing out more facts. Thornton, Lewis, and Carmichael are all getting more rebounds for their time spent on the floor.

____________MIN____PTS____REB____PF___
Nicholson_____15_____2______3______5___
Odiakosa______31_____7______5______5___

Granted Nicholson fouled out in half the time (assuming DO is the one that drew those five fouls), but I don't see much difference in points and rebounds.

You really need to look at the guys they have rotating on the floor to see a real assessment. They have Dinma and Lewis starting...then rotate Carmichael, Thornton and at times Mishler. I'm sure it's hard to have double digit boards every night when you have that kind of rotation. Also, don't forget Osiris is a very good rebounder for a guard!

Just trying to be fair and balanced. Maybe I need to change my name to Bill O'Reilly.

Ok.....so Lewis is producing more rebounds than Dinma for their time on the floor together. Lewis will be a beast next year, assuming he improves daily.

Trying to find reasons to rip Odiakosa because of my sig (which has been there for about a year by the way so you're a bit late to the party) is pretty funny. On his worst days he's better at both ends than any post player BU has had since POB. Try that FACT on for size since you like FACTS so much. Ask the other MVC coaches (or even your own) if you think I'm just whistling dixie. I guess his FT% can be ridiculed but not much else about his game can be.

FWIW-I wasn't ripping BU for North's comment and I apologize if it came across that way. I was merely pointing out that he has underlying reasons to comment on Bradley that others may not be aware of.

Tornado......if you are seriously trying to pass off Mike North as a credible, knowledgable source for college hoops because he volunteers to coach at a weak high school program then you've fallen quite aways as a hoops fan. I'm pretty sure if he commented on how ISU is 6-0 and in store afor a good season you'd rip him to shreds for not knowing what the he** he is talking about.
