The Jim Les Radio Show

I asked the question during the Online Chat regarding the Jim Les Radio Show. I was more interested in it hopefully being the (like in years past) Monday night Radio Show on 1470 with Dave Snell. Not a repeat of last season's Saturday morning show on the Greg and Dan Show.

Coach Les' response was- "Radio show: Details are to be finalized in the near future, but everything points toward a weekly appearance on the Greg and Dan Show."

I just wanna "shout out" and say "NO"!

That show last season was b-a-d... BAD! And I will NOT listen. And I don't think listeners got anything from it last season. What a "loser" of a show!

Coach Les - PLEASE!!! Don't do it!

The Monday show with Snell was SO much better (save for the weekly ***** asking about a recruit in one of the first couple calls EVERY week).

Maybe the Monday night show will never happen again. Then fine. Step out and say so. But don't try to replace it with that garbage show on Saturday morning that was just horrible. Better for you to just sleep in and take the family out to Bob Evans for eggs and pancakes or something.

Just my 2 cents on it.

I have to agree that the show was bad, Greg asked questions that you could care less about and the show started late and only lasted for 15 minutes do to all the breaks.

I seriously think you are too generous with the 15 minutes. I usually downloaded he podcast and I think it was more like 12-13 minutes, and that included all the post-commercial re-introduction..

I'd like to see if they could shift the show to begin earlier (say 8:15) and then get a guaranteed continious 10 minute talk, then a few 5-7 minute talks in the bottom half of the hour.
It would be also nice if they could get a sponsored "ask the coach" session to guarantee that at least one session contained ("e-mail") questions from fans (not related to recruiting)

MM, I agree with you 100000000000% on this one. The timing of the show and the show itself was really bad! I would prefer that Coach Les not do a show at all if this is what we are going to get as a time slot etc.

Overall, I'm guessing that being "bumped down" to the #1 morning show in Peoria was better for ticket sales than the old format.

Despite how much we enjoyed the better content, the old Snell show was only great after they started asking our "e-mail" questions. (I'm not trying to say we are the best, but..) Before asking our questions, there was a lot of bad. A few bad callers asking he same recruiting q, and a lot of repeating the same stuff over and over and over(waiting, hoping, praying for a good caller to call in). With the added questions there was a much better flow and variety of talking points.

Hopefully we can get a TV show on local OTA TV that we can all enjoy (the "sports juggernaut" with 5 stations should be able to fit us in somewhere)

What good is being on the #1 morning show if more than half of the coach's show is commercials?

That's why I pointed out the lack of actual usable air time last year. That certainly needs improvement

One other problem with the morning show is most of the people have to work during this time.
I do wonder about the audience #'s at that final half-hour. I always missed the show live due to work, too. (Thankfully there is a podcast so I was able to eventually listen, but the show would need to be at a good audience call in time if they thought the would get call-in questions)

Does noy matter if it is the #1 show, if the lead announcer is completely clueless about Bradley Basketball. He would not know a 2 guard from a second baseman.
Besides #1 on Saturday morning , has a very limited audience.

That's why I would suggest Dan D do all the questioning during the little time he would have. He knows his Bradley BB. Also, wasn't the show mostly on during the week instead of Saturday.

I thought last year was live Monday or Tue AM. I think Greg and Dan only do live Saturdays for a "live remote" at an advertiser's location.
It's possible that the JL show was always a "best of" show that was replayed on Sat am.
