wow -- 9 of 11 Big East teams are all gone -- and the ONLY TWO who made it (UConn and Marquette) are there via the scheduling fluke of having TWO Big East teams playing each other in the round of 32...thus assuring 100% that whoever got thru to the Sweet Sixteen would be from the Big East!
This conference is EXPOSED as one of the all time greatest frauds...
For the largest part...
their nonconference schedules are loaded with pansies and cupcakes to assure they get good records, they play all their non-conference games at home, and they rack up gobs of conference wins against the horribly bad bottom of their league like DePaul, South Florida, and Providence.
If anyone has cracked the code on RPI and get a total pass on the eye-test because they have all the east coast pundits in their pockets, it's the Big East...
Here's an interesting FACT -- every single team from the Big East that had a winning record in their own conference (Pitt, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Louisville, St. John's, Cincy, WVU, Georgetown) have all been bounced along with pretender Villanova.
also SIX mid-majors remain..one of whom had to come from the "play-in game" Wednesday...Hey -- this is a team that has 26 wins!!!
VCU beat ACC teams, they beat UCLA, lost by only ONE to a Big East team, lost by only 5 at Tennessee, won AT Wichita State, and now have SOUNDLY (and I mean really soundly) beaten USC, Gerogetown, and Purdue!!!
How was this team a "play-in" team??? What in the hey goes on in the heads of the Selection Committee peple??
