The 2013-14 coaching carousel starts

Being reported that Kentucky assistant Orlando Antigua will take the South Florida job after Kentucky is done.

Montana State will hire Oregon assistant Brian Fish. Fish was also a long time assistant in the MVC at Creighton under Dana Altman.

And Wake Forest is reportedly considering Tulsa's Danny Manning.

After the confusion over Shaka Smart, Marquette now is focusing on Tennessee's (and former Missouri State) coach Cuonzo Martin, Duke assistant Steve Wojciechowski, and possible still former UCLA coach Ben Howland

Cuonzo Martin removes himself from consideration for the Marquette job-

I suspect we will soon be hearing about a raise and extension for Cuonzo at Tennessee. :)
This would seem to improve Duke assistant coach Steve Wojciechowski's chances at getting the job.

wow - this is a good choice even if they have to shell out $2.5-3 mil - as he comes with credentials and the commits will likely stay and now ask for releases..

Also being rumored this morning, Jim Christian, formerly the head coach at Kent State prior to Geno Ford, and former head coach at TCU, and now head coach at Ohio, is reported to be the front runner to get the head coaching job at Boston College.

It's now being reported that Boston College has hired Ohio University's Jim Christian. That means Geno Ford's alma mater is now looking for a new head coach...

It would be reasonable that Ohio might want to at least talk to him to gauge his interest...and in fact, I have heard from one source that will happen - so don't be surprised..
I really doubt Ohio can or will offer what GF already makes here but given the situation & the chance to coach your own alma mater - who knows...

Ohio was paying Jim Christian about $400K - little more than half of what GF may already be making.

Danny Manning to be the next Head Coach at Wake Forest-...
nice jump for Danny in his coaching career after only 2 years at Tulsa...
The ACC is arguably the most pretigious basketball conference, but the big lure was going from a $600K per year job at Tulsa - to a job at Wake
that almost certainly will be $1.2 mil+ or so (Bzdelik was at $1.4 mil, and there are reports that Tulsa may have been willing to try to offer up to
around $1.2 mil to hold Danny there)

One more note- FGCU may lose their head coach for the 2nd straight year - as current head coach Jim Dooley is getting some calls and interviews..
If it happens, tough for Ken Kavanagh - who keeps finding and "developing" then "losing" great coaches in their program!!
