Stats don"t lie

I would contend that Woods is no joke. He was a good high school player who, given time, might be an adequate fill-in at PG for BU. Unfortunately, time is not really on his side; 3 games left until conference play.

From Woods' bio: "A second-team all-state pick as a senior in 2007-08 when he averaged 21 ppg, 5 apg and 5 spg ... A three-time all-conference honoree in the St. Louis Public High League, garnering honorable mention status as a sophomore, second-team notice as a junior and first-team honors as a senior."

I would contend that Woods is no joke. ....

All we'd really expect and want out of Charron is to handle the ball without turnovers, and the only turnover he's been whistled for in two games now is that bogus palming call in the 1st half last game..but then the refs gave us a makeup similar call against them shortly thereafter...

He did palm the ball but then several other players did but were not called for it, when a player hesitates and the ball does also it is a palm or a carry, the refs were not bad sat. night.
Charron does a good job and would be a bigger asset to the team if we had more scorers, unfortunately when he comes in it hurts this team because now you add one more to the mix that does not score.
That is why I have a hard time seeing Jake and A.T. on the floor at the same time because they do not score, wonder why Jake has not been the shooter we expected to see at BU as at 6-4 he needs to be able to make outside shots at this level of play, thought he was going to contribute a lot more this season because of the way he finished last year but then maybe his injury is still effecting him on the court.

I happen to like his play and don't need someone like you to try and turn it around, as you do to so many posters on here, with things you do not agree with:rolleyes: Just how many have you seen him play in and for that matter, how many BU games have you seen since he started playing at BU:roll: NONE, I Bet:!: I bet you give nothing to the Program, but your two cents and its not worth that:!: Also your smart mouth attacks, cheap shots, on other posters like the ones yesterday are uncalled for and show the type of person you must be:!::lol: Try coming back to see a game, hell I will buy a ticket for you and then you can make a true evaluation of whats really happening on the court and with BU BB:) Oh, if you don't like my post, don't read them

All right, if you want to get personal I will. I went to 4 BU games last year, have tickets for 4 games this year and and have missed 2 games on B.TV the last 2 years. Before that I saw every home game but 1 during my 4 years at BU despite being the founding president of a fraternity, an RA, working two jobs for total of 50 hours per week, and getting an engineering degree and a business administration minor in 4 years. Not too mention I saw 3 of DSE's games in high school. I don't turn anything around, I stated my opinion just as you did so take your cr@p and shove it.

Finally, not that its any of your business but in addition to paying for tickets, and B.TV I give $50 a paycheck to BU, that equivocates to $1300 a year, and my company matches it for a total of $2600 annually. Show me another 23 year-old that can and does give anywhere near that.

You are now the one and only poster here for whom I have absolutely ZERO respect.

You have gone to 4 years of BU games and donate money, you are entitled to an opinion but please don"t act like you are an expert about Bradley basketball, I have been going since the Joe Stowell era followed by D.Versace,S.Albeck,J.Molinari and now Jim Les, Versace and Stowell were the 2 best coaches that I have witnessed on the hilltop because they both were good offensive and defensive coaches, Albeck good offense terrible defense, MO great defense bad offense, Les started out good offense fair defense and now has turned into strictly defensive oriented, I have also witnessed in person some of the best high school coaches in Ron Ferguson, Sherrill Hanks, Dawdy Hawkins, Duncan Reid, Jerry Leggett, Chuck Buescher and many more that I could name, I think every one of these guys could do a better job then our last 3 coaches in my opinion.

I'm not! I was attacked and defended myself, thats it. lol

Y........Versace and Stowell were the 2 best coaches that I have witnessed on the hilltop .....

My two favorites as well. I absolutely loved and adored Stowell (no homo;) ). In my opinion he is one of the best pure coaches and leaders of men anywhere and of all time.

I got to talk basketball with him on a couple occasions and he was extremely knowledgeable and valued all the things I do. The players who do the little things, who hustle and outwork everyone else. He has a great career, if only he could have recruited a little bit better he really could have been regarded as an all-time great by people outside of BU.

True, but he had the deck stacked against him as far as university resources. Squirrel is a great resource for knowledge on this topic. Stowell had very little to work with as far as recruiting budget, support from the administration, etc. and was known as always getting the most out of what little talent he had. His dismissal as head coach had some folks sour, with him being an alum and a member of one of our greatest teams. But it was the right thing for the university and program at the time, we were and are better for hiring Dick Versace to replace him. Kind of ironic that we're kind of stuck in the same spot with an alum right now.

I don't think the two are really all that comparable, though there are definite parallels. No offense to JL, I like him as a guy, and people generally classify me as a 'JL-apologist' (despite my remarks this year), but I don't think JL is the coach that Stowell was, nor has he given nearly as much to the university, and that is not an insult to JL in anyway. This is only conjecture, as I wasn't even born when he was replaced, but that's what I have gathered in my time following BU and serving on a few committees in which I interacted with Coach Stowell.

JS is a great guy, and a loyal alum, but I wasn't one of the ones soured when he was let go. No MVC titles along with a below .500 record in the MVC in 13 seasons. Don't think JL would last that long.

Very much agree with your assessment BradleyBrave. Stowell's dismissal was basically what happens to most college coaches in which a university wants to take the program in a different direction. My one main wish was that Stowell been given the resources etc that Versace received during DV's tenure.

To be honest, I don't think that you and BradleyBrave are very far apart with your opinions. As you stated on another post on this thread, Stowell has a vast knowledge of college basketball and if you get him talking on the subject, it is very entertaining to listen to his opinions. I remember when I was a kid and my Dad asked Stowell to compare Squeaky Melchiorre to Bob Cousey. That conversation lasted about a half hour to 45 minutes and was truly incredible!

I understood why he was let go and had no problem with it at the time, his teams competed against a lot better competition in the conference back then and were virtually impossible to beat at home, pretty much the reason why Louisville quit playing us at home once they left the conf; I never ever remember watching one of his teams have trouble scoring the basketball, in my opinion he would be getting a lot more out of our post players this season since 2 of them have been here a long time.

Man, I thought it was ME....;-)

Hang in their AMC, these are the times that try fans' souls!

Haha, we do bump heads a lot but that has nothing to do with how much I respect someone. We're that the case I wouldn't respect the majority of this board! ;)
