State of the State of Illinois Basketball

I know it's bad here, but to take my mind off BU hoops for a few minutes, I built this article and stacked up all 13 DI schools in Illinois for comparison.

We certainly aren't the only train wreck in the state.

Thoughts?

It's not doing well about 80 miles to the southeast either as Illinois just got upset at Indiana. They better watch it or they may have to sell some tickets to NIT home games again this year!

I've never taken much stock in worrying about everyone else...

We need to take care of our own business...

They wouldn't play us unless it's some ridiculous schedule snafu like in Vegas where it magically occurs...

So why should we care?

Taking care of our own would be a good start

I certainly didn't mean it to say that we should care about anyone else... but the entire state is suffering, and I thought it to be an interesting conversation starter.

I started this same thread a couple weeks ago called "What's wrong with Illinois?" It didn't really muster a whole lot of conversation, but I'm glad someone else is noticing this as a problem. For a state that touts the strength of its high school bball players, should the colleges in it be reaping some of that talent?

I agree, but I am a college basketball fan and I was just making an observation about one of our in-state schools. And yes, they won't play us unless forced to, but I still follow the Illini as they are one of the few teams in the state playing pretty well, the loss at Indiana notwithstanding.
