I'd like to get an informal count of how many posters think they might head down to South Padre Island to watch the Braves play basketball this Thanksfgiving.

The wife and I will be going.

I already have my reservations made, so in the slight possibility that Bradley backs out, I guess I'll be going to watch Iowa, Vandy, and the others.

Absolutely going. 6 hour drive from Houston or an hour flight. But no way will I miss BU playing in Texas and not going.

Hope to also get into Peoria for the VCU game before xmas, keeping fingers crossed for a BU game in Omaha on a Saturday and of course the Valley Tournament.

I live in Houston and I am supposed to be in StL & Peoria over Thanksgiving....wonderful. I'm trying to work out a scheme that gets me to South Padre but I am not sure I will succeed.

Is Bradley planning a trip for the fans?

I don't think details haven't been finalized yet but there will definately be a travel package avaliable through the Bradley ticket office. There will also be tickets avaliable to Bradley fans for people who are going to make their own travel arrangments.

If students can make it to SPI in huge numbers for spring break, they should be able to come down to support the Braves!
It would be great if Bradley can set up a no-frills trip for students. Maybe a bus trip?

Yeah, I think cost is a big issue, also I know it'll be hard for me to work around the holiday. I still enjoy dinner 3-4 times(my moms family, my dads family, and then whatever I do with my girlfriend), I could cut out the girlfriends family, but still it may be difficult.

I would really enjoy something for students though.

I do have trips planned for UIC, Loyola Chicago, Wright State, and Butler already, and I'll probably be adding ISU, InSU, SIU and maybe UNI or Drake.

I wish I had money for all those road games. South Padre may be too cost prohibitive for me, but I have no problem not seeing my family, heck its the best part of being a student  . I've been trying to look for a way to get down there, and the girlfriend wants to go with, but it is like one of the most expensive travel periods of the year. If Bradley can put something together to get students down there that would be great.
I really want to go and am going to pull out all the stops to try and make it happen.

I have those same trips planned also. This is my last season so I'm pulling out all the stops. Hope to make it to Creighton and maybe see us play the Shox on the road as well.

As far as SPI goes, I highly doubt there will be a student specific rate/package. If a student wants to go they are just going to have to suck it up and pony up the money unfortunately.

Dear Santa,

Please deliver my gift about one month early, in the form of airline tickets and hotel reservations for South Padre Island. I've been mostly good, as long as you don't count any time I've imbibed in the tequila-flavored Kool-Aid.

Love,
Me

I'll be there.....and I'm bringin' my sticks! :D

DB.....you get those condo reservations made yet?

I'm having a tough time choosing between the 1-room studio with the public bathroom above the cantina and the leaky 10 ft row boat. They both have so much local character
