Some NBA Predraft Camp Player Measurements

tornado

The heights are the measure WITHOUT SHOES first, then WITH SHOES.
then come the measures of horizontal wingspan, standing vertical reach, how many BENCH PRESS lifts of 185 lbs, vertical leap, then % body fat measure.

Some of the measurements are kinda surprising and show the penchant for
players' measurements to really be exaggerated when they are in college.

..Player....height w/ & w/o shoes...wingspan...vert-reach..lifts..vert-leap..%body fat
Michael Beasley.....6-7.....6-8.25.......7-0.25......8-11......19.......35"........7.7%
Derrick Rose.........6-1.5...6-2.5.........6-8................................40" (and ran 3.05 sec on 3/4 court sprint)
Brook Lopez.........6-11.....7-0...........7-5.5.......9-5..................30"
Jerryd Bayless......6-2.......6-3...........6-3.5...................10.......38" (3.07 in 3/4 court sprint)
Kevin Love...........6-7.75...6-9.5......6-11.75.....8-10.......18......35"........12.9%
O. J. Mayo...........6-3.75...6-4.5.......6-6..........8-3..................41" (3.14 in the 3/4 court sprint)
Eric Gordon..........6-2.......6-3.25......6-9.......................15......40" (3.01 in the 3/4 court sprint)
Anthony Randolph..6-9.....6-10.25......7-3..........9-1.................35".........4.7% (ran the 3/4 court in 3.26)
DeAndre Jordan.....6-11.......7-6........9-5.5......................8......30.5" (3.27 in the 3/4 court sprint)
Joey Dorsey.........6-6.25..6-7.25.......7-5.......................19
John Riek....................................7-8.75........9-10
Javalle McGee..............................................9-6.5
Josh Duncan..............................................................26 (the best in camp)
Sonny Weems......................................................................(2.96 in 3/4 court sprint-best in camp)
Joe Alexander.......................................................................(2.99 in 3/4 court sprint-2nd best in camp)

Some of the bigger surprises to me........

Michael Beasley was billed as 6-10, and he's really only 6-7!!
OJ Mayo has been billed as tall as 6-5, but is only 6-3.75, and Eric Gordon isn't 6-4 or 6-5 as billed, he's 6-2.
But, Joey Dorsey has been billed as 6-9, 6-10, and even nearly 7-ft!! and is in reality barely 6-6!

Here are the full measurements of all the players in Orlando

http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/?year=2008&sort2=ASC&draft=0&sort=

So Brian Butch is really just 6-9 and not 7-ft
Iowa State's Jiri Hubalek is NOT 7-ft or 6-11, he is actually a bit over 6-7
DeAndre jordan is under 6-10 not 7-ft
Derrick Rose is only a bit over 6-1
West Virginia's Joe Alexander not only is the 2nd FASTEST guy in the 3/4 court sprint, but he also bench presses more than all but one of the rest of the guys in the camp.
and Brian Butch and Jiri Hubalek win the award for being the worst leapers!
(does the term "stiff" apply?)

In some of those guys' defense, they don't play basketball in bare feet, and stats like wingspan, speed, and leaping ability have a little more importance than where your head ends up IMO.

In regards to those 'stiffs', I would have taken those 'stiffs' at BU in a heartbeat.

I agree........but I am really impressed at the speed, athleticism, and even jumping ability of Alexander
but..........just wonder what Larry Bird's numbers were?? ;)
