Should Evansville be asked to leave the conference?

The the Purple Aces are more like the deuce of clubs, horrible this year last year and every year they have been in the conference. I say kick em out...

The deuce of clubs can be a very lucky card if you've also got a nine of hearts and pull the big king of diamonds on the double down with 50 bucks on the table ;) But you know what's going to happen ;) the dealer will draw to 21 for a push :(

Not completely true- Evansville finished 1st in the MVC in 1998-99 under Coach Jim Crews. They didn't win the tournament that year, but went to the NCAA tournament as an at-large team and were a #11 seed. They were blown out by Kansas and finished the year 23-10.

And we would have to hope they chose to leave the MVC on their own. I am not aware that the league has ever kicked anyone out unwillingly.

C'mon...without Evansville in the conference we wouldn't have anyone to make us feel at least decent. There's always the "Well, we could be Evansville" excuse...and I like it.

I think we need to look in the mirror before we start looking to kick others out of the league. Let's just worry about ourselves playing well first.

"The the Purple Aces ..., horrible this year "

People who live in glass houses...

Exactly - I can't wait til we lose there this season so everyone can go on Super Melt-Down.

It's almost as if we are setting ourselves up for defeat. All this crap smack-talk... I almost think it is inevitable we will be the only team they beat all year.

Better yet - I'm gonna have to call in a wager to Vegas taking the Aces just to get some satisfaction out of the game. Either... Bradley wins and I lose cabbage or Evansville wins/(or)covers and I win cabbage.

No matter the outcome - I will walk away feeling "ok". ;)

13 years or so ago, Drake went 0-18 in MVC play. 3 years ago they dominated the league. 12 years ago, Evansville won the league. While it is still possible they might go winless in MVC play this year, I don't think that they will.

If Drake wins tomorrow, they are on the verge of finishing ahead of Bradley for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Both have more recent league titles than Bradley. If the league kicks one of them out they have every right to kick Bradley out too.

Woah! Negative Nelly!

This is not the time worrying about who to kick out. Quite funny really. It's time to make sure you have the financial footing to cut over to a new league if the opportunity arises. We also need to watch out that the MVC does not implode. UNI, ISU and MSU could all split to a football conference while the other basketball only schools look for a better home. Now that is more of a reality then the Aces getting the boot.

Didn't we know that the Aces were going to have a rebuilding year?
At least they've been somewhat close in games and competitive. In 2 years, they might be a top-half Valley team. Yes, the MVC has much parity this season, but the bottom half teams are pretty decent, and are giving Evansville good lessons that they'll benefit from in a couple years. You can't take them lightly - and I don't think that anyone is, since they don't want to be the 1st (and maybe only) team to lose to the winless Aces.
Now if they beat BU this Saturday, I'll vote for kicking them out!
