Should Bradley expand into lacrosse?

Its easy to beat a dozen people, notice I didnt quantify what a lot would mean. Really the dream would be for an on campus venue like UIUC has, nothing huge, but just something functional on campus, and that could be used for all sorts of other student recreational activities.

Lacrosse would be nice and having grown up in Maryland and a Hopkins fan it does attract the type of student that BU is after. Hockey on the other hand is a New Enland/Mid-west sport and geographically speaking we should have graduated from a club sport to a Varsity sport years ago. They played out doors in Buffalo in a NHL game, imagine putting a ring in the quad and having our team play. That may not be a bad idea next year! Maybe have a corporate sponsor pay to have a ring installed on the quad and can you imagine all the fans at that game. I'm sure it would make new all over the place.

Colorado Lacrosse

I heard some sports talk radio guy talking about the fact that the Colorado Manmouth Lacrosse team averages 17,500 fans per game. Which is more than the Nuggets or Avalanche. I have no idea if it is a fact or not but that's what he said. He wanted to know if they hand out free beer to every fan.

I played Lacrosse in highschool and it is a great sport. Very popular in New York where I grew up. I think it would make a great addition to campus and would help recruiting the east coast. I also think womens soccer should be added eventually.

Personally I would like to see Bradley get better at the sports we have first. Our womans baskeball team is a mockery and needs to get better. Our baseball team has a great facility and a fairly strong history and should be much more competitive. Our womans volleyball team hasnt been good in years and despite having the best volleyball player in the MVC and ever at BU we still didnt win. A new coach may help that. President Glasser said she wanted to excell at the sports we play before expanding and I agree.
