Scoreboard?

Just got back from Ames.....not much to add that hasn't already been said.....but I do have a question!

Remember a couple of years ago the Civic Center had plans to get a new scoreboard, what ever happened to that? The reason I bring it up is that the scoreboard @ Iowa State is awesome...it's 8 huge TV screens with High Def pictures close to an LED type picture as good as the high def signal 0n my home sets! It makes the ones @ carver look like a joke! They use 2 TVs stacked on each of the 4 sides and the top sets are the actual scoreboard and man is it nice!

I have a friend who works in the Civic Center and I think I remember him saying something about the new scoreboard is supposed to be installed this summer or something. I'll ask him again about it, but I just recall him saying something to that extent.

This picture doesn't do justice to how high-resolution the 8 huge video screens were.

Are those fans in yellow behind the baskets all students? If so, I thought only the Bradley students, the ones that actually show up, had such terrible seats.

It'd be nice to get something like that as it looks awesome! Please let us know what you find out DUBrave, I hope you are right!

That picture is from some past game where the fans dressed in the gold colored tee shirts. They include students, but they are not all students.
Yesterday there were only a tiny handful of students, and they were not wearing the gold.

What comcast told me yestoday was that it was only available on one of the ESPN pay per view TV channels and they contracually couldn't broadcast it on channel 74. When I asked why they had it listed the person said they didn't know.

Well it was pushed out to all of us fans that it would be on local tv, BU.tv, espn360 and espn full court Being out of town, the local tv was not an option for me. espn wasn't an option because my isp wasn't one of their partners and espn fullcourt was like $19. Of course I pay for BU.tv already and while it's @#$!, I thought I would at least get to see it there...no such luck.

I asked this earlier this year and I believe the answer was the PCC scoreboard was supposed to be replaced this year, but due to budget issues, replacement was pushed back to 2010.

I never checked during this game, but previously, every ESPN360.com game involving Bradley happened to appear on channelsurfing.net.

That was an unfortunate communication. As far as I know every ESPN game has been ESPN exclusive - No other video/streaming sources have ever been allowed... However, it is possible for a local TV network to aquire local broadcast rights to an ESPN full court game. Prior to the Big Ten network, WAOE (channel 59) in Peoria simulcast every Illini game that was otherwise only available via full court. I'm certain that Comcast or any other local channel could of bought the rights to broadcast the game locally, but did no want to spend the money.

I asked again and as far as they know, it is supposed to be replaced this summer, but like you mentioned, it has been pushed back before so who knows. It'll be interesting to see how it looks though. Sometimes watching the BU games and Rivermen games, I don't think it could really get much worse.
