Sam Maniscalco injury

Sam is fine

Sam is fine

Update - BU team is at the airport, and Sam is walking with a slight limp that wouldn't be noticeable if you didn't know what happened last night. My guess is that you'll see one or two guys on any college team at any given time walking with a 'slight limp' because of an ankle. Nothing to worry about. Sam will be fine for Friday.

As I said above, I am also at the airport and talked to Sam. I didn't notice a limp, but then each player was hauling their heavy bags themselves, so maybe it was because he wasn't walking very fast.
Sam told me his ankle is fine, and he'll be OK when he plays Fri & Sat.

Thanks for the "up-to-the-minute" and "on-the-scene" reporting guys. Have fun in Vegas!

JL said after the game that DD would not be heading to Las Vegas because there still is some discomfort and they want to be sure that this injury heals as fast and best as possible.

There are some injuries that heal as well if the kid plays as they do by sitting. Bradley has a terrific staff of trainers and doctors, so I am sure they aren't doing anything that jeopardizes Sam's health or future.
Yes, they tape ankles, but taping a basketball player's ankles is much more likely to slow him down, so I don't think the taping is as much as in football or other sports.

I just saw and talked to Sam at the airport. It turns out that the team is flying out this afternoon on Allegiant Airlines, the same flight I am on. I didn't see Dodie, so maybe he didn't make the trip.
But Sam said his ankle is fine today, and he is OK for the games Friday and Saturday. The team practiced this morning, and everyone is OK.

..on the radio pre-game last night, JL said Dodie would not be making the trip..
(Too much uncomfort for the flight right now, and he is rather enjoying the wonderful support he is receiving from his mom right now..)

I just want this team to develop a mentality of when you smell blood, go for the kill. We often let teams hang around when we have them on the ropes only to let them right back in the game. Last nights opponent didn't have the horses to overcome the lead that BU had built. Wofford came an AW steal away from coming back and getting the win. Last year we had UNI (a very good team) down and couldn't put them away and ended up losing. This is not a one night problem. BU has had a recent history of not "closing" out wins. I'm not so sure it's JL's fault but as the coach he needs to teach his players a killer instinct.

The 2 times we had a chance to put the other team away Jim substituted 3 players in and we lost our momentum, I say leave our guys in until you build a 20 point lead and only sub 1 player at a time, this is a rythum game and when someone is playing well he needs to stay on the court unless he gets into foul trouble.
