Rice University bb schedule

Matt Hagen graduated from Pekin High School the same year as Jeremy Crouch, and although he took a redshirt year for knee injury at Rice, he finished his fourth year and graduated last spring.
With the new incoming head coach Ben Braun looking for open scholarships to get out on the recruiting trail, Matt Hagen was NOT offered a 5th year of scholarship, and thus has completed his college career, unless he plans to transfer elsewhere. New NCAA rules do allow 5th year graduated played to transfer without penalty and with immediate eligibility, but nothing has been reported.
He can also stay on scholarship at Rice but not be counted toward their 13-scholarship limit (as Mike Vandello did at ISU) if he needs to finish classes but cannot play due to injury.

I really thought he had only been on the Rice campus for 3 years. Good for him to have graduated from Rice. He really had played so little for Rice maybe I just figured he was going into his 3rd year of eligibility because of the lack of time he had played.
