Report of Jim Les firing

THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING! I love personal attacks from "fellow fans". For what its worth I supported the one more year movement but now he is gone and its time to move on.
There IS a team right NOW and I do STILL support it

The season is not going on. We all will support the team and always support its players when it starts. We do not have to support this decision, and I have the right to be upset about this. If SM does not support this, does that mean he doesn't support his teammates?

I will support the team but there is no way I'll EVER support the freak-show running things.

just got off the phone with a "higher up" in the athletic dept who also has heard nothing -- so apparently this is an action between two people only, as nobody else who really ought to know does know...
interesting......it'll sure make BU look classy..............not sure why those touting who is a good BU fan seem to want BU to look so bad publicly??

As I once stated, "Turn out the Lights the partys over." I hate to see people lose their jobs but its time to move on. Jim we will always appricate what you have meant to BU. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

Onward and upward. Thank you for 13 great years as a player and coach. In my world, you always have a place at BU. Once a Brave, always a Brave.

Very well said! Ditto +100!

Good luck Jim in your future endeavors. Thanks for your great service to this university the past nine years! :D

I really don't understand this thought process at all! Kids that have been in school four years aren't "allowed" to move on with their lives? Believe it or not, the younger kids are fresh from being recruited by JL and I'm sure he was a big reason they chose Bradley to begin with.

Whatever happened to playing for the name on the front, not the one on the back?!

I just can not understand why people think that anyone is above that of the university...thus why I said if they don't want to be here, then I don't want them here!

BU needs to get a release out.. you are correct.

And then have the press conference tomorrow.

Oh great! You mean JG met with Les and made this decision on her own? Not good, IF true. But I'm reserving judgement until the official details come out.

BB- with all the negativity in the press and the circus that's going on now...there is indeed a little bit of a side-show look to this whole thing that is not making Bradley look good in the national sense...
just search the comments being made by various people all over the nation on their tweets...

even the PJ Star is hesitating to post any news on this as it seems so weirdly rumorish...maybe they don't want a replay of the JW to Iowa State headlines?

Even though I shouldn't be surprised by this news, I am. I just didn't think it would happen. I thought better sense would prevail.

And even though I've got incredibly mixed feelings about JL as a head basketball coach, I think most intelligent people thought he deserved at least one more year to lead this team to a Valley championship in either the league or the tournament.

The speculation as to what will happen with current signed recruits, and potential transfers (remember, we just had two players sit out the year, and I believe that makes them eligible to play for a different team next season) begins.

On a personal level I think JL should have been given next year...but that he HAD to acheive big results.

JW did verbal but to Iowa Sate :)

This has been a few minutes in the grand sense of things....

It will be ok tornado, but I appreciate your concern about the university.

So now the "pro Les" crowd is the same as the "anti JG" crowd. And the "anti Les" crowd is the "pro JG crowd. And the "pro Les" crowd who continually criticizes posts that criticize Les's ability to coach the team are now criticizing JG in the exact same manner.

Hypocrisy at its finest!

I just can not understand why people think that anyone is above that of the university...thus why I said if they don't want to be here, then I don't want them here!

So a player decided 4-5 years ago to come to Bradley, stay here four years, and they are somehow considered selfish for deciding to get on with their lives when a coaching change is made in year five? :-o

One thing about all this: I think everyone thinks we'd have a better record next year with Les than without Les. But this move isn't about one single year, it's about long-term direction.

There was significant doubt that Les could consistently compete at the top of the conference, that's what the move is made.

This is my opinion as well.

I appreciate all that JL did for the university, but I did not have confidence in his ability to raise this program back to prominence.

And I wish that all the naysayers would just wait to see who the new coach is before worrying about who is going to leave and who is staying. It's all speculation at this point anyway.
