Replay question....

Is there any policy forbiding showing replays on that NEW BEAUTIFUL scoreboard.

WOW...if there was ever a chance to whip the crowd into a frenzy why not show us Warrens intentional foul......the muggings AW was getting and not called......the charge on AW...(they MIGHT have shown that one)...and quite a few other calls.

The refs lived at the replay monitor last nite and I can't recall seeing one time where they showed the fans the same play.

I did really enjoy watching the silly arse taco run across the screen but I'm there to watch hoops....you paid for the thing lets use it.

Is whipping the crowd into a frenzy really a good idea?

I understand what you are saying dogs...but I think it depends on the replay. Maybe there is some sort of replay code of ethics....

they did replay the charge called in the first half that was bogus on AW I think.

AW got back a little at the end of the game throwing a good elbow in thye face at the top of key with about a minute left.....some refs would have ejected him for it...it was pretty blatant

I would love to see that replay as well. From my vantage point.....1) It sounded like the ref blew the whistle as AW caught the ball and was just turning (but before the elbow came up)...2) that there was no actual contact and the guy flopped.

I have never seen any of those refs last night, that I can remember, but they sure liked to turn a blind eye to alot of the grabbing and pulling last night!

Watching the online feed, since all adults look nearly comatose, If they stop getting kids to show on the screen, Its to the point where they will have to show replays of past years..

Elbows are a major point of emphasis this season. You can not cross your elbows. Usually you see that in a tussle for rebounds, not with a guy securing possession on the perimeter.

But he did unnecessarily cross with his elbows. And got the call he deserved.

Let's face it, we're not just bad because of the injuries.

As to the point of the guy hitting the ground, he was actually slipping and already going down. AW's elbows normally would have hit his chest, but instead hit his face. So it was also a hard foul. It wouldn't have been, but it ended up being one.

The charge several possessions later was also a good one.

I didn't see the AW foul clearly, although I think it silly to look at replay to assess severity... That should be a judgement call, plain and simple.

I did have a good look at blocking foul- AW did make some contact, but was going away from the defender.. Disagree on that being a good call.

I agree....its not a "good call" when the defender is falling backwords before contact!

Terrible call!

That's why elbows are a point of emphasis. Elbows flying are dangerous. Doing so is going to get you a "T" this year.

If you thought the charging foul was a good call then you see as bad as the ref that called it, the defender moved when Andrew adjusted his body to the left of him which made it clearly a blocking foul, the elbow one was most likely done to get the defender off of him as they were pretty much fouling him all night and the refs chose not to call the fouls which in turn gets a player to take matters into his own hand.

You guys would have a point if AW was also not out of control.

The defender beat him to the spot. Warren was erratically zig-zagging to his left and drove into him.

It was not clear what he was going to do, and you simply aren't going to get that call.

you know things are bad when we have BU fans siding with officials !!! ;)

Another question with replays....Why did the refs wait 9 seconds into our possession to go back and check that 3 in the first half. Shouldn't they do that either right after the basket or wait for a stop. Seems like a disadvantage to stop BU's offense while it's in the middle of a possession.

Not only was the defender not set, he was in the paint, under the basket... There IS a no charge zone in college, even if we're not allowed to paint it for some reason. Guy slid under there just as AW leaped. It was an awful call.

I can't comment on the intentional foul, because I didn't see the play well enough to say.

However, those guys were terrible, awful referees. If only they would have asked players to adjust their socks it might have been a perfect game of ref-disaster for them. My favorite thing was where they stopped play 9 seconds into our shot clock having decided to review an ISU player's shot having been a 2 or 3, then awarding the extra point and resuming play with the short shot clock having already disrupted our offense.

About 10 to 15 seconds before one of the refs warned Andrew about swining his elbows after he got the ball on the other side of the court and it was that ref who called the foul. I would agree it looked a lot worse then it was as the defender was losing his balance. As far as the charge call on AW flip a coin. I thought ISU Blue did as good a job as Duke did on AW. Lots of pushing and grabing of his jersey and if the refs allow it AW will have a hard time scoring.

The ISU coach called out the refs for "protecting" AW, I answered him by yelling "your players should be arrested for assault and battery, they are mugging him."
He did not answer me?

After the T on A Dub, some of the people around me started yelling TECHNICAL after every ISU Blue foul. :)

If AW had a coach who stood up for him during the game when he's getting screwed over by the refs and assaulted by ISU he would not have had to take matters into his own hands (or elbow as it were  ).

I blame Les for being gutless. Coach needs to learn when to take a "T".
