Remy Abell to Indiana.

Indiana basketball and Notre Dame football are very similar. The only people that think they are still relevant programs are their fans.

So where does Matt Roth transfer?

-- now it'll be interesting to see who gets their scholarship taken away -- they can fit Remy in this year -- but they're way oversigned for 2012...and almost everyone's a shooting guard!

Anyone at Indiana who would be attractive to BU if Crean lets them go?

RA the BU door will stay open for you if it doesn't work out as you planned at Indiana.

Don't wait too long though....Will want 3 yrs of eligibility from you if you come over to BU.

Remember the old saying, "The court may not be Crean-er on the other side of the floor.

why if someone talks about a subject you don't want to it is an obsession?

Obsession: A persistent idea idea, desire, emotion that cannot be gotten rid of by reasoning.

He (can't even remember his name anymore) is none and done at BU. Nothing we can do about it.

I know an obsession when I see one. In fact, I have an obsession ... about obsessions.

Remy, this time you'll have to honor your signature. Hope you're happy with this second final decision.

Come on. Remy did honor his signature (even though as a minor he is not legally required to), He was released by Bradley, so Remy did things the right way. He hasn't done anything wrong. Let's stop trying to make the kid into a villain.

If I thought he really got out of his commitment because he's so distraught over the coaching change and not that the firing was a convenient and well timed "out," I wouldn't mind this at all.

I'm sure he had a lot of people in his ear all Sr. year making passive aggressive comments about BU and then an onslaught of advice 10 seconds after the Les firing that he can easily bail out. It would be a lot of pressure for a young guy. Imagine all the people talking to his family (not recruiting of course) throughout all of this.

Basically, if he had an average Sr. year I believe that he would magically be looking forward to playing for G. Ford.

You are entitled to believe whatever you want. I actually have talked to people who know Remy and his situation and that is not the case. He had every intent of playing for Coach Les, despite tempting from other schools. Remy feels it was Bradley that did not keep it's commitment to him.

Looking forward to the next inbound recruit...

Coach---I'm really getting weary of all the "Remy" stuff and I suspect a large number of posters share my feeling. For whatever the reason, the lad is gone. Lets stop kicking the poor dead horse and blaming BU for everything that has happened in this area. Whatever the reasons, it doesn't really matter now because its over.

We have a new coach who most of us are enthusiastic about, we have three new recruits and possible more to come, and the program is entering a new era. Clearly a year or two of rebuilding will take place but the future for BU is bright---Lets move on, drop the recriminations and "blame games", and be positive about the BU future.

Wiz- Sorry, don't mean to offend anyone, but I plan to continue to follow how Remy does at Indiana, and I think more fans are curious, too. So please ignore the Remy threads.
Many can accept that there is collateral damage from a coaching change, though some want to deny that. However, I am ready to move forward and fully support the coaching staff.

DC is right!

Anyone out there who can't accept there can be collateral damage from a coaching change, knock it off!

There, its over and done!

The key (hope?) is if a coaching change proves to be worth the initial collateral damage!

If losing Remy is the price we pay for a better coaching option, then I am all for it!

But seriously, I hope Remy is soon able to get over the crushing heartbreak and severe emotional toll of not being able to play for Jim Les.

I think that DC is relatively positive about the future from what I've read from him and supportive of Coach Ford. He's just giving his perspective and pointing out what he feels is the truth about the reason for Remy leaving based on reliable sources, while others are just speculating about why he decided to leave. While I'm growing somewhat tired of this thread, it's certainly more relevant than NBA threads on this site. But I manage to skip over those threads and jump to ones that I want to read.

Maybe some people should test their creativity and start a new thread about something else related to college hoops if they don't like the current threads...over the past 2 years, I've come to realize the big responsibility of being a moderator for the immense number of comments that come through 24/7. While we bash them at times, without their contributions, insight, and moderation, this site would probably be O.O.C. and not the best forum in the Valley. Yes, I said, The BEST!

everyone is welcome to start or create their own threads and topics...

Here are some stats hot off the press from an expert....

--20% of head coaches change, leave, and/or are replaced each year

--40% of college basketball players transfer before their junior year
(many because of or following a coaching change)

--and 80% of the athletes say that they would NOT have come to where they committed if there were a new head coach!
(so Remy is simply among the HUGE majority of 80%)

Then why didnt he wait to see if Les was hired somewhere if he was so adamant about playing for JL? IF that was indeed the reason/only reason he is not coming to BU?

It was a perfect storm, the kids stock grew and he had an opportunity to get out of his commitment, just like any kid who signed for a coach that was fired. It is what it is. He is not going to play for BU, the sun will still rise and set tomorrow and BU hoops will be fine.

Les has not been hired anywhere else. Maybe if he had Remy would be playing for him. I can't blame a kid for wanting out of an arrangement he did not plan for, and having control over his life and choices again.

Yeh right wait for JL to get hired elswhere...when he may not get back into coaching right away?? your arguement makes no sense...but your right about moving on....move on already and quit trying to downplay JL's value to Remy...
