I just got a phone call from Orange & Black. He was calling from O'Hare where he just ran into Coach Merfeld. Coach Merfeld said he was on his way to Boston to watch a tournament this weekend. O&B didn't ask any more than that.

He is playing for the Patterson School.
In the Showcase, Patterson won two games:
Patterson 75, Bridgton Academy 69
Patterson 84, New Hampton 60

Here is a comment from Dave Telep, national recruiting expert...

"Darius Johnson-Odom, SG, Patterson – His team was missing a trio of its top scorers and offense was available so the Raleigh native let it fly. Playing with confidence, the strong mid-major prospect hit for 18 points. The athleticism and ability to score will get him looks from different levels.
Combo guard Darius Johnson-Odom, the former MVP of the N.C. state title game, is also capable and should be a mid-level signee.."

"Darius Johnson-Odom 6-foot-2 180 SG Lenoir, NC Patterson School was on fire in Lowell, he is an explosive combo who can flat out score off the dribble or knock down jumper from beyond arc or off dribble. He is very quick and opened some eyes in the stands this weekend. He is currently hearing from Bradley and Northern Iowa, but look for that list to grow after the past weekend."
