Problems at Wichita State?

There are rumblings of serious bad vibes at Wichita.
It is being talked about on the Wichita State Board
amd on a Kansas Board.

This is right on the heels of getting a commitment from a top big man, but they obviously had to free up a scholarship for the kid.

Supposedly Turgeon kicked two players off the team and as many as five others are going to leave in response.
Also one assistant is ready to leave, accordning to the rumors.

Here are a few tidbits as the are posted elsewhere.

"Apparently WSU has some real trouble brewing for Turgeon. Mark pulled scholarships from two of his big players and 5 more have notified him they have quit the program! I do know several players were very unhappy with him this season and the team had tons of turmoil because of it."

Some of this seems to be credible as this 3 page discussion on the Shockernet message board does appear to concede something's up , but their moderators will not allow anyone to name names.

I spoke with someone who is a Wichita fan and was told that a local TV sports reporter, who also does the play by play for some of their televised games had also reported that a major shakeup is coming with several players leaving.
Apparently two players have been told to leave and are leaving, two more are apparently going to quit on their own, and up to 3 more are voicing displeasure and may leave.
Nothing has been made official, but there's beginning to be a lot of smoke, and even the fans on the Wichita board seem to admit something along this line is happening but are not going to allow much speculation.
The names that have come up are Chris Brown, Arbry Butler and Ogirri has been asked to leave. Gal Mekel and Wendell Preadom are also rumored to be considering leaving.
 
this is too bad for the mvc. wsu is one of the best teams almost every year and losing all these players will undoubtedly destroy their program in the next few years. also, it's hard to recruit when there is obvious disapproval from active players. i think wsu is in big trouble and it hurts the mvc altogether. hopefully some of these players that are leaving will enroll at another mvc team but i doubt it.

Wichita's tailspin down the stretch was indeed impressive.
Two months earlier, some wanted to call off the race and give
the Coach of the Year trophy to Turgeon.
Maybe the facts as they played out show that even a truly
great coach can indeed lose lots of games if his players "aren't
all on the same page".
Perhaps some of those who trashed Jim Les for his first 3 years
at BU can take a lesson from this.
 
It looks like the wrong coach left the Valley today. Maybe Turgeon should have taken the Arkansas job, with Altman staying around for another 13 years. :?
 
I'm sorrry, but I remember that Mark Turgeon could have run up the score on us last year - at home and did not. He is a class act in my opinion. I'm hoping it works out for him in Wichita. Go MVC!!!

I have heard that those 2 players will leave and open a couple scholarships that are already committed. Look for other changes, too, like maybe one of their returning starters to leave.
 
It is also being rumored that Arbry Butler and Wendell Preadon may be leaving as Wichita is still furiously recruiting despite already having 13 players on scholarship.
It is also possible that one of the incoming recruits, Denzell Bowles has not received a passing test score, and may not enroll, and the issues involving Ogirri still have not been made clear.
