Well I am not one of the people that usually complains about Sam. I really wonder how badly he is hurt. That was the worst game I can remember him having in his career. All around, shot wouldn't fall, got the ball taken away several times, just a bad game. That and the free throws really cost us.
Don't get me wrong as I like SM with his constant hustle and toughness, but he thinks he has more ability than he does and constantly gets himself into a position where he can't make a play. Being hurt doesn't make you drive into traffic over and over again losing the ball most of the time--unless you have a headache and can't think straight.
Maybe his injury is hurting his shot? It is flat and has little chance of going in from the angle it is coming toward the basket. He needs coaching from Aaron Zobrist who would give his shot more of a chance of going in because of his high arch. Or, Sam needs to sign up for a physics class and learn the dynamics of a ball going through a hoop as it has a higher probablility of going in if it is coming straight down. His shots are also not "soft" enough for him to get a good bounce. He shoots like he is trying to break the rim! JC had a "soft" shot and he could rim them in every once in a while. Until SM learns not to shot the ball 100 mph with little arch he will never be a consistently good shooter, hurt or not, period.
