I wanted a change. Yet, I still bought season tickets. I still went to St. Louis. I still cheered on BU at every turn.
Now, people who CLAIM to be BU fans are saying we should "hate" the President, cheer players for leaving, and hope the next coach fails.
Or saying all the donors will be pulling their money.
I never saw people "hoping" JL failed. Maybe some were disappointed, but never hoping for failure.
Strange how that works.
As you said, if the shoe fits.
Are you BU fans or JL fans?
I'll take the wait and see approach.
I agree with onward & upward, it can't be anything other than upward...can it...after tying for last place.
Looking forward to who is picked as new coach and what his coaching philosophy is. I hope it's play big, rebound and block shots in addition to an offense that gets the post players more involved in the game....
Go Braves![]()

I'm a bradley fan first, not a SM fan first, not a JL fan first..a Bradley fan first...
I think it is his right to pursue both academic and athletic opportunities that he has earned by graduating early --
No matter someones opinion before the firing, its done now. As a result onward and upward with a major dose of wait and see is the only reasonable attitude for a fan... But don't believe that we can't go down from where we were this season.
Two thoughts:
1) The reality is even if Sam goes (and I hope he doesn't) we will still have the team Jim Les recruited for next year -- provided others honor their commitments. And it's still a team I'm very excited about watching next year. Until he went down in December, Sam was obviously not in the plans for next year. It would have been a nice bonus to have him back, but just that....a bonus.
2) A show of hands of those who think, had Sam played his senior season and made all-conference, that he would now be pursuing a master's degree in sports journalism? No . . . he'd be pursuing playing basketball at the next level. My guess is his decision is 95 percent about basketball, 5 percent about studies, and I suppose that's why as a Bradley fan I have the right to feel a little let down.
.... it is my right as a bradley fan to express my disappointment in him leaving. He wants to go then go, but I won't pretend to be happy about it.
I am one that is surely dissappointed...I have enjoyed watching Sam at BU...I hope that he still gives the new coach an ear...
