OT - Renegade Councilwoman?

Yes, it is a neighborhood dispute. But it involves a city councilwoman belittling the authority of police in the area that she represents, which makes is newsworthy. You're free to think it's a non-story, but the responses from most people on this thread seem to think otherwise. Would you want this woman making decisions for your local government?

It still baffles me that anyone would think that buying a house near fraternity row is a good idea.

The neighborhood wanted to do something against an easy target and the councilwoman screwed it up. Unfortunately, that's the normal result when anybody from the city council gets involved.

While History has many examples of sodden, but still effective politicians, to me, it appears that the noblewomen in question doesn't have a handle on what is, and isn't, an urgent priority. Given that, I would not want her representing my interests.
 
I just finished reading the article about the councilwoman and her ranting about the BU police and her physical confrontation, but Im a little torn now, on which is more sensational, after spending time reading about the whole Schock paying for Bush to raise money for his compaign... Man good times up there in Peoria :)
 
Didnt the Dean Welmer's wife wreck her car as she was pulling up the fraternity house? I think she also might have a sip of wine or two before going over to the fraternity house.

That is funny because my dad had just said someone should splice that scene into the security video from Sigma Nu with the title "look familiar?" lol.

All I have to say is thank God someone else realizes how ridiculous the standards of the "Neighborhood Association" are. C'mon. A keg or red cups signifying underage drinking. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but aren't they being a bit presumptuous. And the fact that neighbors are instructed to keep tabs on their neighbors sounds like an absolute envasion of privacy. Although my favorite part of the brochure was that the the University has sanctioned buildings for fraternity parties. Yet, they went to the Sigma Nu house to complain about a party. I suggest the residents of Peoria realize just how important Bradley University is to this city.

I think all we need to do is post the annual number of Bradley grads that Caterpillar hires to illustrate that. Without Caterpillar, there is no Peoria. BU is the lifeblood of Cat. Connect the dots.
 
Everyone get rid of your red plastic cups! It's a **** crime! And as we have learned, a crime is a crime is a crime. You can do 10-15 hard for red cups. If you get caught with a keg, oh you better believe its 20-25 in federal.

Speaking of which, were the esteemed councilwoman, her friend and her friend's boyfriend using similar containers? Perhaps they are underaged drinkers as well?

Should we all be using blue Solo cups in the future?

I was pretty lucky in the neighborhood lottery, big brother put me in a neighborhood miles away from those bastard fraternity houses. And don't even get me started on those sororities and their chanting, cheering, and boozehoundry.
