OT: political email spam??

Good morning/afternoon. I woke up this morning to my blackberry flashing that i had ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE new emails. Needless to say, I thought this was a mistake of some kind, only to find out that someone for a student election emailed the ENTIRE university to promote their vote. The email then turned into a university wide off topic/racist soundoff. Did everyone else with bradley affiliated email get this? Will the university do something to stop it? Just wondering.
 
Everyone I talked to today got it. There's a real uproar over this since it's basically spamming every single student at BU and asking them to vote for someone for president.

(Random deity) be praised that gmail puts all the replies in one message so it has been very easy to delete them all!!!
 
I thought it was hilarious, everyone vote for the Bear. Put people do need to learn not to multi-quote when they respond, it creates so much unnecessary scrolling.

From what I've been told Construction Majors didn't receive the email. Lucky them. Now other people are taking the email list and sending out their crap like full tilt poker stuff. At first I thought it was funny but now i'm just annoyed.
 
I wouldn't have any issue with it if it was actually discussing the University Senate elections... an open forum on that topic would be good for this University.

The ones that bother me are the ones turning it into "Lets vote for a mascot!" or bashing Administrators/Faculty who have asked people to stop. Or the ones simply doing it because they know they annoy others.

Free speech is one thing -- spamming is a totally different story. My tally for the day is at 168.
 
I didn't get it...I'm a civil engineering major...is that included with the construction majors since it's CEC

I feel left out to be honest....it was pretty funny tho
